Padovana completed a hat-trick and broke through at stakes level at Nantes last Tuesday to take her tally to four wins from seven starts. The Francis-Henri Graffard-trained four-year-old became the sixteenth individual stakes winner for sire Sea The Moon. This G1 German Derby (2400m) winner stands at Lanwades Stud in Newmarket where his fee for 2021 was £22,500.

Always well-positioned by Olivier Peslier the Carlos Laffon-Parias-trained three-year-old showed a good attitude to hold on by a long-neck. It was a deserved first success at stakes level following an excellent second in the G3 Prix de Royaumont (2400m) at Chantilly earlier this month. Ricla is a half-sister to 2018 G1 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp (1600m) winner Recoletes. Her sire, Adlerflug, finished third in the G1 Prix Ganay (2100m) and produced last year's G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (2400m) runner-up In SwoopAdlerflug passed away as a seventeen-year-old in April earlier this year.

Merveillo became twenty-third individual stakes winner of late sire Archipenko when making all at Toulouse on Thursday. The Christophe Ferland-trained three-year-old dictated the contest under Enzo Corallo to go on and score by a length. Archipenko stood at Lanwades Stud in Newmarket until his passing due to laminitis at age thirteen. He has sired Group 1 winners in multiple continents, most notably Time Warp who won the G1 Hong Kong Cup (2000m) at Sha Tin last year.

The François Rohaut-trained three-year-old remained unbeaten in two starts when running out a one-length winner at Chantilly last Friday. Settled into a good rhythm towards the rear of the field, Olivier Peslier delivered his mount with a well-timed challenge. The unexposed son of Assy looks to have plenty of class and should be capable of plying his trade in stronger company in the not-so-distant future.

This Gavin Hernon-trained gelding made it a hat-trick of wins for the season with a daring run up the fence to score by a length. The Charles Wentworth-owned Stormbringer was sold as a yearling at Tattersalls October Book 2 to Church Farm for 50,000gns. Paul Harley Bloodstock landed a successful bid of 190,000gns at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-up the following spring. Dutch Art stands at Cheveley Park Stud for a private fee. The success made it forty-two individual stakes winners for Dutch Art.

The Alain de Royer-Dupre-trained Sheraz won his first stakes race with a four-and-a- half-length victory last Friday giving Sea The Stars his eightieth stakes winner. The Aga Khan homebred, Sheraz became the first stakes winner for Group 3 winner ShemiylaSea The Stars is standing for a fee of €150,000 at Giltown Stud in Ireland this year.

The Godolphin-owned four-year-old showed a good attitude against the nearside rail when scoring by three-quarters-of-a-length at Compiègne last weekend. This was a second success among Listed company for the late son of the top-class Shamardal who passed away as an eighteen-year-old in April 2020.

Belle Promesse completed a trio of course and distance successes when running out a ready five-length winner last Wednesday. The victory meant a first win at group level for the five-year-old mare who looks capable of stepping up in grade in the future. The Mlle Isabelle Gallorini-trained mare is by top-class miler Fuissé, who scored in the G1 Prix Du Moulin De Longchamp (1600m) in 2010. The half-brother to Full Of Gold, who won the G1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud (2000m) in 2007, stands at Longford House Stud (IRE) for a fee of €2,500.

Bimbo Has recorded his second success from six career starts to deny Youtwo Glass by a nose last Wednesday. After being headed down the back straight it took a power packed drive from Angelo Zuliani to have the son of Authorized back in front by a nose at the finish. The unexposed four-year-old looks capable of further progress chasing and should have plenty more to offer going forward. Authorized, a son of Montjeu, continues to deliver high-class performers in both codes and stands at the Jockey Club of Turkey for a fee of €12,500.

Granvillaise Bleue reversed form with re-opposing rivals when gaining a well-deserved first success in Group company at Vincennes last Friday. Always well-positioned throughout the daughter of Jag de Bellouet showed a smart turn of foot to run out a comfortable winner. The Pierre Levesque-trained five-year-old looks capable of maintaining her form in group company.

The Fabrice Souloy-trained five-year-old faced a strong challenge round the home bend before eventually pulling away by a length. This victory made it nine wins from thirty-seven starts for the son of Un Mec d'Héripré.

It was a fourth Group success and a sixth career victory from twenty-three starts.
