The Stats Guide: Criterium des 4 Ans.

The Criterium des 4 ans is the Classic Generational Championship. Formally held in May this year's renewal will be the first to be held later in the calendar year. It is a Group One race for four-year-olds run over 2850m, geldings excluded, having won at least €38,000. 

As with most years, the renewal looks a competitive but high-class affair with the likes of Hirondelle Sibey, Hooker Berry, Hokkaido Jiel, Havanaise and Horace du Goutier all of note.

Many top-class horses have won this contest in the past including the likes of Gélinotte, Jamin, Roquépine, Idéal du Gazeau, Ténor de Baune, Général du Pommeau and Timoko. The race record is held by Enino du Pommereux with a time of 1'11'7 in 2018.

Ready Cash has sired three of the last six winners and his hopes will rely on the progressive Horace du Goutier.
