Race | R2 – Prix de Fontenoy |
Type | Two-year-old maiden (1600m) |
Winner | Chancellery |

Always handily positioned by Mickael Barzalona, the newcomer breezed into the lead at the 200m marker. He put the race to bed in a couple of strides to win effortlessly.
A €785,000 purchase at the Arqana Doncaster sale in May, the son of Medaglia d'Oro is a first foal out of a Canadian Stakes winner over 1600m. His father is a sire of champions - multiple Group One winner Golden Sixty; G1 Breeders' Cup Turf (2400m) winner Talismanic and the imperious nine-time Group One winning-mare Songbird. This maiden has an illustrious roll of honour with the same owners scoring with G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains (1600m) winner Victor Ludorum (Shamardal) two years ago, while G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (2400m) winner Waldgeist (Galileo) took the race on debut in 2016. Chancellery is an exciting colt who will be of obvious interest when stepped up in grade, potentially in a juvenile contest on Arc weekend.
