Weekly Round-Up of French Racing and Trotting - 11th January 2022.
Cagnes-sur-Mer held their biggest jumping day of the year with four Black Type races whilst the G2 Prix du Calvados (2850m) was the highlight of the weekend at Vincennes.

Hirondelle du Rib overcame trouble in running to take the G2 Prix Emile Riotteau (2700m) on Saturday at Vincennes. She produced a strong last kilometre and seems to have benefited from a change in training routine by Joel Hallais. The mare could head to the G1 Prix du Cornulier but connections are keeping options open. |

Jazzy Perrine took advantage of the absence of Just Love You and the disqualification of Jamaica Turbo to win the G2 Prix Gelinotte (2700m). Led into the last turn by Jet Set Bond, Jazzy Perrine finished quickly and snatched victory in the final strides. It marked a milestone 50 victories for sire Django Riff from his I and J crops. |

Just A Gigolo impressed on his first attempt over 2700m winning the G2 Prix Maurice de Gheest in comfortable style. He set a new record for the race with a kilometre rating of 1'14"9. Connections were delighted with the colt who has won six times from seven career starts. |

Fantaisie continued her winning streak with a seventh consecutive success in the G2 Prix du Calvados (2850m). The mare was stepping into this grade for the first time and equalled the race record with a kilometre rating of 1'12"8, which is the third fastest time in the contest since it was changed to 2850m. She has qualified for the G1 Prix du Cornulier and is an exciting prospect for her trainer Nicolas Bridault. |

In a tactical race, Dusktodawn Boogie came out on top to record a Group Two victory in the Prix Charles Tiercelin. Although the four-year-old has only been in the yard for a month, Jean-Michel Bazire was able to produce a career-best performance out of the mare and earn qualification for the Sulky World Cup 4 ans on Prix d'Amerique day. |
