FRENCH TROTTING

The Prix de L'Ile de France (G1) is a prestigious mounted contest run over 2175m. This year, it has attracted a competitive field – many of which competed in the Prix de Cornulier (G1) two weeks ago. Granvillaise Bleue and Hanna des Molles filled the second and third position in the 'Cornulier' behind Flamme du Goutier, who missed this race in favour of last Sunday's driven Prix d'Amerique (G1) . The two mares will be fighting for Group One success, but there are plenty with chances in the field…

Get Lovely Delo

Sixth in the Prix du Calvados (G2) and would need to step up to win.

Galipette Pierji

Managed to lead early in the Prix de Cornulier (G1) and faded to sixteenth. Unlikely to trouble these.

Heliade du Goutier

Racing consistently in mounted and driven events. Been competing at Group Two and Group Three level in recent months including a second in the mounted Prix de l'Ile d'Oleron (G3)

Vaprio

Italian trained and lightly raced in mounted races. Out-ran odds when fourth beaten 5.25L in the Prix de Cornulier (G1) and also finished fourth in this race last year. Could be interesting if able to replicate a similar Cornulier performance.

Dynasty Peji

Expected to go closer than the eventual twelfth in Prix de Cornulier (G1). Previously won twice amongst Group company including over course and distance attempting the Prix Reynolds (G2) in November. Can bounce back.

Happy and Lucky

Showed excellent form prior to a thirteenth in the Prix de Cornulier (G1) including placings in the Prix Bilibili (G1) and the Prix Herve Cera-Maillard (G2). Not to be dismissed if returning to form.

Hirondelle du Rib

Some useful placings at Group level in recent months and finished sixth in the Prix de Cornulier (G1). Probably will find a few too good again.

Gladys des Plaines

Previous Group One winner. Not in the same level of form this season and would need to stage a comeback.

Hanna des Molles

Winner of the Prix Bilibili (G1) and finished third in the Prix de Cornulier (G1) beaten 3.25L. Sets the form standard and can go close again.

Freeman de Houelle

DQ in the Prix de Cornulier (G1) when out of contention. Some fair pieces of form in recent months including a fourth in the Prix du Calvados (G2) though plenty of horses with better profiles in this.

Zarenne Fas

May not have shown his best form yet and ran on well to finish fifth in the Prix de Cornulier (G1). Would need to step up but a place is within his reach.

Etoile de Bruyere

Only finished in the frame once during 2022 and has not been running to best. Unlikely although very capable on prior form.

Granvillaise Bleue

Likely favourite with excellent recent mounted form. Runner-up in the Prix de Cornulier (G1) beaten 0.75L and winner of the Prix Jules Lemonnier (G2) prior.
