Trainer Luca Cumani has nominated the £40,000 Listed contest over 1m2f as the ideal stepping stonefor Presvis, winner of the Audemars Piguet QE II Cup in April and joint 30th in the World Thoroughbred Rankings, who has been absent from the track since being denied a second quick-fire Group 1 success in a photo-finish to the Singapore Airlines International Cup in May.

Already a course-and-distance winner at Sha Tin, Presvis will be seeking to follow in the illustrious hoofprints of Falbrav, who landed the2003 Hong Kong Cup for Cumani and Frankie Dettori in a course-record time.

Cumani said: "Everything is on course with Presvis. There is a Listed race at Lingfield next month in which I plan to run him and he will then fly out to Sha Tin about ten days before the Hong Kong Cup on December 13.

"The horse had three months off during the summer. He came back to me in August and has been trotting and cantering. We are gradually getting him to where we want to be and I am very happy with him."

If taking up the engagement, it will be Presvis's first race in Britain since the John Smith's Stakes at Newbury last September.
