The Club's highest-priced purchase was Lot 191, a good-looking son of Exceed And Excel – sire of Hong Kong luminary Mr Stunning – knocked down for AU$760,000. The bay is out of the G3 1200m winner Serious Satire whose dam Zarzuela notched a pair of G2 wins and placed third in the G1 New Zealand Oaks. The colt's third dam is the G1-winning New Zealand champion sprint filly Star Satire.

Medaglia d'Oro has gained prominence in Hong Kong this term thanks to the exploits of his brilliant BMW Hong Kong Derby-winning son Golden Sixty. The auctioneer's gavel dropped in the Club's favour at AU$725,000 for Lot 389, a brown colt by the G1 sire. The youngster is a half-brother to the speedy G1-placed G2 winner Smart Missile, being out of a half-sister to the G1 scorer Northern Meteor.

Lot 213 went the Club's way for AU$700,000, being a colt by the in-demand I Am Invincible from the direct female line of the great producer Fall Aspen. The youngster's dam Solar Moon is a winning three parts sister to the high-class G1-placed Dee Ex Bee, being out of a full-sister to the outstanding champion Dubai Millennium.

The Club secured another son of I Am Invincible for the same price. Lot 291 is an athletic individual out of the sharp G3 winner Written Dash from the family of the G1-placed sprinter Masthead and G1 T J Smith winner Sizzling.

The Club opened its buying with Lot 170, a half-brother to G1-winner Hampton Court; Lot 239 is out of a half-sister to G2 winner Champagne Harmony from a G1-producing family; Lot 408 is a strong Fastnet Rock colt out of a half-sister to Australian champion Dissident; Lot 435 is a half-brother to Listed winner Zoustyle from the family of German champion Felician; Lot 489, a Snitzel colt is related to New Zealand champion filly Princess Coup and her son Thewizardofoz who was Champion Griffin and a G3 winner in Hong Kong.
