The winner of the Keisei Hai is by Heart's Cry out of an Argentinian mare Malacostumbrada.

The Japanese are always looking for new influences in their breeding and decided a few years ago to import a group of mares from Argentina.  Malacostumbrada is a G1 winner in Argentina by Lizard Island and her colt Gratias remains unbeaten.

Time to Heaven was second, Ten Bagger third and Weiss Meteor fourth.

At Chukyo the G2 Nikkei Shinshun Hai G2 over 2200m went to Shoryu Itsuzu on 12.6 with Miss Mama Mia second on 99.0 and Courageux Guerrier third just ahead of Sanrei Pocket.
