Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

The first on the eleven-race card will see some lightly raced Korean-bred gallopers line up over the short course. (3) NANSAN MUJEOK looks the one to beat as he lines up for his sixth start. The colt sat on speed last start and held off the field with the exception of Linchpin, who looks a handy type. Furthermore, Miracle Wind lined up in the same race and has since gone on and broke maiden status since. (11) BARAM GONGJU comes out of the same race where she finished fourth. She may be forced to settle further back than where she would ideally sit in running, however she can be ridden cold and run through the line strong for Kim Cheol-Ho. (6) STING improved at his second start when lining up in a stronger race taken out by Future King. He looks to sit in the leading division and is capable of collecting some prizemoney in an easier affair. (12) PINEUI KKUM has been consistent, placing at his past two starts. He was stretched out to the 1300m for the first time last start when overcoming a wide draw to sit behind the leaders. He ran through the line one-paced holding off the runs from behind.

Selections (3) Nansan Mujeok (11) Baram Gongju (6) Sting (12) Pineui Kkum

Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

Three-year-old maidens here with five of the eleven racing for the very first time. There weren't high expectations on (9) GOBLIN on his debut following a middling trial, but he ran well for 2nd, racing prominently throughout. Seo Seung-un takes over the mount today, which can only be to his benefit and he won't need to improve much on that run to win. (1) YEONGGWANGUI EAGLE steps up in trip for the first time following two promising spins around 1000M registering a 3rd and a 5th, the latter in stronger company than this. He'll be on pace from the start and can go close. The only other one with experience who has hinted at ability is (2) HANHYEOLMA so we will turn to the first-timers for our next bests. (3) ROCK PEGASUS and (5) GLOBAL SEUNGNI both posted competitive trial times and should go well first up.

Selections (9) Goblin (1) Yeonggwangui Eagle (3) Rock Pegasus (5) Global Seungni

Race 3: Class 6 (1300M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

Twelve maiden gallopers line up in the third where there is a severe lack of early speed engaged. As a result, the speed map looks hard to judge and there is very little confidence with this race. (10) NAMYANG SEUNGNI has shown enough previously to suggest he is an each-way chance. The Chapel Royal colt finished second behind Ultra Pheonix two starts back and then ran on to finish fifth behind Mr. Hansen last time out. With a lack of speed engaged Jung Do-Yun will need to stay in touch to keep his winning chances alive. (2) REINA missed the kick last start before picking up the bit and eventually running on well to finish fifth. She lines up in a much easier event and if she jumps away with them she can finish in the money. (12) B.K. HONEY has improved with each run and is capable of placing after coming out of some much tougher races. (1) THUNDER BAY has finished midfield at his past few and will appreciate an easier assignment.

Selections (10) Namyang Seungni (2) Reina (12) B.K. Honey (1) Thunder Bay

Race 4: Class 6 (1300M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

More three-year-old maidens. (1) HAPPY SECRET tackles the 1300M for the first time following a much-improved 2nd over 1000M on January 10th. She ran on pleasingly and the additional distance can be to her benefit. (3) STRONG MIND comes in having run 3rd in both his first two outings, the latest of which was at this distance on January 17th. Like Happy Secret, he was well beaten by a good winner but ran well and has the potential to improve. So too does (9) PERFECT JEWANG. He's raced just the once running 5th in a good race at this distance just before the turn of the year. He had previously won a trial and looks nicely in here. Perfect Jewang and Strong Mind will be aiming to get on pace from the gate while Happy Secret is expected to be ridden slightly more patiently. (2) BABEL STAR and (4) VERRA DAY are minor money hopes.

Selections (1) Happy Secret (3) Strong Mind (9) Perfect Jewang (4) Verra Day

Race 5: Class 6 (1600M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

There looks a standout in the fifth where he looks to map on speed and prove too strong to run down. (1) TOP SKY comes off a third placed performance behind Power Train, which was a much stronger event. From the inside draw he should take up the lead and prove too strong for rider Lee Hyo-Sik and trainer Kim Young-Kwan. (11) LATINUIHYANGGI has placed on two occasions from three career starts. She looks to have a maiden win in the near future but she will have to do it from the outside draw in this event. (9) SUPER GALAXY comes out of the same event as Power Train but the margin was significant. She is lightly weighted and looks a place chance at best. (3) CENTER FORWARD finished fourth two stars ago over this distance when running on well. He is one that looks to appreciate a longer journey but lacks early speed. If Francois Herholdt is able to kick up early on him and keep him in touch with the leaders, his turn of foot should see him run into the money.

Selections (1) Top Sky (11) Latinuihyanggi (9) Super Galaxy (3) Center Forward

Race 6: Class 5 (1000M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Wide open handicap here. (4) FUTURE KING got his maiden win at the fifth time of asking on January 10th with a very impressive score over this distance. He does step up in class today but the manner of that victory suggests the Caleb's Posse colt has much more in him and he can win again. It won't be easy though. (6) YEONGSEONG BRAVO put in an inexplicably bad run when well-fancied last start on January 3rd. He was going very nicely prior to that though and is worth another chance from a better draw today. (9) MAN OF THE WORLD remains a maiden but has some good performances to his name and dropping back in trip today, is a likely pace-setter. (1) CHOEGANG BOSS ran a solid 4th in a strong class and distance affair last start and can aim to match or better that here while (8) FUNKY looks best of the rest.

Selections (4) Future King (9) Man Of The World (6) Yeongseong Bravo (1) Choegang Boss

Race 7: Class 5 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

There looks to be only a handful of chances in the seventh but it should be an interesting race nevertheless. (8) WAKANDA run well last time out when finishing second behind favourite Burning Front. The three-year-old goes over the mile once again after running through the line strong last start. (5) WONDERFUL SUPAH looks as if he should bring up his second win in the near future. The four-year-old has placed at all of his past five starts including his maiden win. (10) MISS ADELE has finished runner-up at his past couple of starts including a good performance behind Echo White last start. The Old Fashioned filly proved her versatility when showing a good turn of foot last time out which may be relied on here by Jung Do-Yun as she has an awkward draw. (2) ANGEL KING STAR run a fair time last start when finishing third behind Beyond. He is still a maiden after nine starts but can run into the money with a good draw.

Selections (8) Wakanda (5) Wonderul Supah (10) Miss Adele (2) Angel King Star

Race 8: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

Fillies and mares only in this reasonably strong handicap. (8) ADELE SPIKE and (5) SECRET LEGACY came home 1st and 2nd with just half a length between them when they raced each other over 1000M on January 17th. The pair of them disputed the lead throughout the race and ended up beating a number of useful horses. Both are slightly up in weights today and the additional distance should be neither a help nor hindrance to either and they can fill out the quinella once more. (7) ACE BOOM registered three straight victories – albeit with six months between the first and second of them – last year. She kicked off this year with an in no way disgraced 5th in what was a tight finish to a good race over 1300M in January. She'll come from behind the speed here and is a credible threat. (11) JANGSAN TOKYO has won two trials since she last raced back in early December and we could see an improved showing today while (12) SKITTER drops back in trip and perhaps into contention for a place.

Selections (8) Adele Spike (5) Secret Legacy (7) Ace Boom (11) Jangsan Tokyo

Race 9: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

The ninth event looks to be a race full of early speed. (5) BANJIUI JEONSEOL has been a model of consistency since starting his career as a juvenile in August last year. The Old Fashioned colt comes off a last start third behind the handy Two Two Great. The Peter Wolsley trained galloper maps on speed and brings the strongest form lines in to the race. (9) GRAND JILJU was a last start winner in Class 5 company. The four-year-old has been racing well of late and produced a good time last start over the 1300m. (6) BRIAN PARK has run some handy races since resuming in December. The five-year-old should be at peak fitness for his third start this preparation. (1) ULSAN JANGGUN doesn't win out of turn but is constantly around the money. He gets in with a lightweight and looks a place chance at best.

Selections (5) Banjiui Jeonseol (9) Grand Jilju (6) Brian Park (1) Ulsan Janggun

Race 10: Class 3 (1800M) Allowance / KRW 75 Million

(2) YEONGGWANGUI PARTY ran 4th behind the excellent prospect Save The World on January 31st. He is already a winner at this distance, albeit in class 4 company, and looks like the kind of type who can still get better. He'll be on pace from the start and can win. (1) DAEJI CHAMP has only won one of twelve prior engagements but has no fewer than five runner-up finishes to his name, including his latest two. He led close to the line last time in what was at least as good a race as this and he should be a strong challenger here. Just a neck separated (5) TAGONAN JILJU and (6) MAN OF THE MATCH when they finished 3rd and 4th respectively at class and distance on January 10th. Both have claims to match or even better that here. (The wildcard is (10) DAEHEUNG SIDAE. He is up in class and while all three of his wins to date have been over a mile, he has run well over this distance before and the outside gate should be of little concern given his running style.

Selections (2) Yeonggwangui Party (1) Daeji Champ (6) Man Of The Match (5) Tagonan Jilju

Race 11: Class 2 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

The last on the card is one of the strongest Class 2 races we've seen in recent times with plenty of gallopers yet to show us their best. In a wide open race, (12) HENNESSY PRIME is the on top selection. The Henny Hughes entire will have to do it from the outside draw but he has placed behind the likes of Kingston Harbor and Ssonsal at his past two starts. He gets in well at the weight scale and maps to sit off speed and run home strong. (5) SSONSAL has won four from eight including a last start win when ultra-impressive overcoming the outside gate. The handicappers hit him with a 3.5kg penalty for the win which makes this tougher but he is a horse on the up. (10) WONDERFUL LION blew her rivals away last start in Class 3 company. She was out of her class in the Jeju Governor's Cup two starts back but performed sensationally last time out when winning by six lengths. With just the 51.5kg on her back she cannot be discounted. (11) POWER TOUCH is another that cannot be discounted, he is a multiple place-getter in this grade. He didn't run up to his best last start but his previous form behind Seobu Cat reads extremely well for this assignment. (9) SEONGSAM SIMON and (3) YEONGGWANGUI SECRET are both in form and cannot be discounted in a wide open race.

Selections (12) Hennessy Prime (5) Ssonsal (10) Wonderful Lion (11) Power Touch
