Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

A pretty hot maiden to kick things off with plenty of these having shown promise in trials. (1) SMART VALUE went through two heats, most recently in March, when he led all the way to come home first in a fast time on a dry track. Drawn in the inside gate he can work forward under Jo In-kwen and can go very close. The only other trial "winner" is (11) GREAT GOOD. Thomas Gillespie's filly came from just behind the early speed in a May heat to cross the line 1st, pulling away and needs to be taken seriously today. (9) MAEUM DAERO improved across two heats and he trainer and jockey combination will ensure she gets plenty of support. (6) ROYALIST and (7) ACHIM BIT are others who showed ability in their trials and have every chance of performing well first up.

Race 2: Class 6 (1000M) Allowance / KRW 75 Million

The second on the card will see the Korean-bred two-year-olds line up over the 1600m, all of which are on debut. There was a lot to like about the trial of (1) DOCTOR FASHION last month. The Old Fashioned colt bounced out in good style and led the field well into the straight. The older gallopers eventually gobbled up the chestnut but he was never fully asked for by his rider, he finished a couple of lengths behind handy three-year-old Save The World. Expect You Hyun-Myung to work forward from the inside draw and prove hard to catch. Archarcharch filly (9) NAMED showed a nice turn of foot in her trial. Francois Herholdt, who was aboard for the trial and will ride on Friday let her find her feet before improving just before the turn. She hit the line well and finished just behind the on top elect Doctor Fashion. (2) HEAT YEGAM clocked a fair time in his trial in wet conditions. The Take Charge Indy colt was given a couple of backhanders to keep him running through the line strong, which he did and a forward showing would not surprise. (5) HUIMANGUI SORY is next best after a fair trial performance where he lost touch early before running on well in the straight.

Race 3: Class 6 (1300M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

Twelve maidens go around here with precisely half the field lining up in a race for the very first time. Of the experienced ones, only (12) TOP LUCKY has managed to hit the board so far, doing so on her second start back in January when she ran 3rd over 1000M. Her subsequent trial was competent enough and stepping up in trip today, she may be considered. (1) TAMNA HWANGHU showed very little in two starts at the start of the year but looked significantly more competent when trialing three weeks ago and the addition of Jo In-kwen aboard can only be a plus. (9) PILSEUNG IJI meanwhile has experience of racing at this distance and also looks set to improve. As for the first-timers, (8) WIND PARK won a trial at the end of May and accordingly brings herself straight into contention against modest opposition here, while (6) CRONOS offered few clues in his heat but the stable means he is sure to have supporters.

Selections (12) Top Lucky (1) Tamna Hwanghu (8) Wind Park (9) Pilseung Iji

Race 4: Class 6 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

The Korean-bred maidens line up again over the 1400m in the fourth where they've all previously raced. (9) PAI BLADE is the on top selection here on the basis of his recent good trial. The lightly raced four-year-old had his first run mid last year and has not been seen on race day since. He trialed late April and did everything right, finishing third and clocking a good time under hands and heels from Franco Da Silva. (4) JEONSEOLUI FIGHT has had four previous starts where his best performance came at his most recent start finishing fourth over 1200m. He clocked a fast trial for this grade in May and looks one that is ready to fire early. (3) CHOEGANG CLEAR is the most experienced galloper engaged with fourteen starts under his belt. He only beat one home in his trial but he ran into some handy ones in his heat. This is not a strong race and he is capable of picking up a minor cheque. (8) A. ONCE looks a place chance based on her trial. She was under the stick for the last furlong and clocked a fair time.

Selections (9) Pai Blade (4) Jeonseolui Fight (3) Choegang Clear (8) A. Once

Race 5: Class 6 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

(10) TRIPLE MAGIC ran through the line strongly for 2nd on what was his second appearance on the racecourse in February. He looked well when trialing in April and the step up in trip today should suit. He looks the one to beat. (11) BLUE SIGNAL ran competently enough in two January outings and while she didn't show much in the way of speed, she ran on gamely enough to suggest that she can tough out 1400M as well. She'll most likely be steadily away and pass a few late on. (7) BEAUTIFUL GALLOP managed a 3rd place behind Great Boss on her final start before the shutdown. She too hasn't been quick but looked lively in a trial and is another who may appreciate the extra distance. (8) MARK STAR defied lengthy odds to run 2nd over 1200M back in January and is another who ran a touch quicker than expected in a trial. He can come from off the pace and cause problems late on. There is one solitary debut-maker. (4) PORRIMA was no better than average in her heats but average may well be good enough to hit the board in this limited company.

Selections (10) Triple Magic (11) Blue Signal (8) Mark Star (4) Porrima

Race 6: Class 6 (1600M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

The maiden gallopers go over the mile in the sixth where their 1000m trial efforts aren't all that helpful in gauging their condition. (3) BLUE EMBER lines up for her sixth start after showing some improvement at the start of the year. The chestnut trialed well after settling near last before going through her gears in the home straight, working through the line well. Franco Da Silva has a good draw to work with, she should be able to settle behind the speed and show her turn of foot late. (10) WONDERFUL EI has two minor placings from the five career starts. This will be the first time the gelding is stretched out to the mile but he did run home well last start in February over the 1400m. (9) SMART YEONGUNG finished fifth over the mile behind Top Sky last start in February which reads well for this event. The To Honor And Serve gelding is likely to settle rearwards with the awkward draw. (11) CHEONNYEONUIGUREUM is next best after placing third last start in January over this distance. She can show early speed so Jeong Dong-cheol may ask her to work forward in the early stages.

Selections (3) Blue Ember (10) Wonderful Ei (9) Smart Yeongung (11) Cheonnyeonuigureum

Race 7: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Having run 2nd on debut at the end of December, (5) GOBLIN stepped up to this trip February 14th and made all for an extremely comfortable win. Accordingly, he is up in class for his return today but impressed in a May trial and he could well have too much again today. (10) COPY THAT won at odds in excess of 100/1 on debut in December and backed that up by running 2nd on his first try at this class in January. He steps up to 1200M for the first time and can aim to at least place once more. (6) SPEED KINGDOM was an all the way winner over 1300M at the end of last year and is up in class as a result. He perhaps has a little bit more to find than some of the others but is in with a chance. (1) HUNTER PARK and (3) SILLAUI MISO have both proven themselves capable of running a place at this class and both should be involved here.

Selections (5) Goblin (10) Copy That (6) Speed Kingdom (3) Sillaui Miso

Race 8: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

A tough race for punters to assess and it's fair to say there isn't any potential champions in this lot. (11) SHINING EYE is the on top selection based on some reasonable performances before the racing hiatus. The filly finished fifth last start behind Mr Hansen over the 1400m when showing some early dash. She trialed in reasonable time during the hiatus, we will take her on the basis she will work to the front and get some cheap early sectionals. (8) GAMDONGUI SUNGAN hasn't appeared on race day since August last year. She has placed on four occasions from twelve starts and her recent trial was good. She is likely to benefit from this run but a forward showing wouldn't surprise. (12) TOWER CAPTAIN has mixed his form in the past but his best is good enough to win this event. He comes off a second placing last start back in February behind Ecton Stealth over the 1400m which reads well. His trial in April was fair, the question is where does he end up from the outside draw. (6) RENAISSANCE MAN won over the distance on debut and has managed to place just the once since. He is capable of running into some minor money.

Selections (11) Shining Eye (8) Gamdongui Sungan (12) Tower Captain (6) Renaissance Man

Race 9: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Very tricky event for the fillies and mares. A winner on debut before running 6th of 12 over 1300M on his first try at this class back in January, (10) ULTRA PHOENIX looked well in an April trial. The slight step up in trip today should be good for him and he looks to have chances here. (8) JITTERBUG ran on pleasingly for 3rd place back in February and has performed adequately at a mile in the past so should have little problem with the distance and is one of the main dangers. (2) LEMON EYE seems to enjoy trialing as she's won both her two most recent ones. She's yet to win an actual race although she did run 3rd in a useful time at this class over 1300M in January and that's enough to put her in the frame today. (9) YEONGWON CHAMP showed no signs of getting to grips with this class but perhaps the long layoff has done him good as he looked sharp in a trial two weeks ago and can go close if he brings that form to the races.

Selections (10) Ultra Phoenix (8) Jitterbug (2) Lemon Eye (9) Yeongwon Champ

Race 10: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

A mixture of imports and local galloper line up against each other in the tenth over the 1300m. (6) THE SABER looks one that if right, just wins. We haven't seen the chestnut at the races since September last year when he ran second to the very handy Power Touch. The Trappe Shot colt should have beaten Power Touch on that day when he covered more ground than Gandhi. His trials have been good leading up to this preparation and he looks well weighted. (2) BLACK EAGLE WING is yet to notch his first win but his consistency to date has been good. He comes off a last start fourth behind Curlin Time over the mile when hitting the line with gusto. He trialled in good fashion back in April and the 1400m first up looks ideal for the three-year-old. (5) KOREA PRINCE is another import yet to break through for that first win but he has placed at two of his past four starts. The Cairo Prince gelding will carry just the 52.5kg coming off a handy trial in May. (9) EURO GONGJU is likely to be in this grade for the rest of her racing life. In saying that she is capable of popping up for a place now and then. She is worth including in your novelties.

Selections (6) The Saber (2) Black Eagle Wing (5) Korea Prince (9) Euro Gongju

Race 11: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(7) DONGTEUJA DAY won two of her first three outings before finding herself somewhat outgunned when up against the best of her generation in two big juvenile races. She returned to more amenable company to record back to back runner-up finishes behind Choegang Touch and Euro Shinhwa around the turn of the year and maintained her touch in a trial in April. Victory is certainly possible here. (11) MIRACLE DREAMING is up rapidly in class having won his latest two at 1300M and 1000M respectively. He's recorded the kind of times that should be competitive at this level too and while he will have to overcome a wide draw to get on pace, he's done it before and can do it again. Also on the early pace will be (9) MORNING BRAVO. He led over 1200M last start before ending up in 3rd place and he should be a danger once more. Plenty of others are in the hunt too in what is a good race. (1) K.B. BOSS is up in class but was very fast in a trial two weeks ago, albeit on a sloppy track. (3) USEUNG JIKIMI doesn't win out of turn but was 2nd last start at class and distance and warrants respect. (5) SECRET LEGACY is another who has proven herself capable in this company.

Selections (7) Dongteuja Day (11) Miracle Dreaming (1) K.B. Boss (5) Secret Legacy

Race 12: Class 5 (1800M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

The Class Five gallopers line up over the two turns here in a race lacking frontrunners on the speed map. (7) ONE PICK is the on top selection after a dominant eight length win over the mile at just his third start. The three-year-old is by multiple group one winning staying stallion Admire Don, suggesting the 1800m will not be an issue. He looks and exciting Korean-bred to follow throughout his career. (10) POWER WONDERFUL was racing consistently before the racing hiatus. The Tiz Wonderful colt comes off a minor placing behind Mr. Hansen last start after settling on speed. With the lack of speed rider Jin Kyum is likely to cross early. (5) CHEONNYEONUIHEUIMA showed a liking for the middle distances before the enforced break. The filly finished second behind World Today late January when sitting on speed throughout. In terms of the speed map she looks to get the most economic run. (2) JAESAENGMYEONGI looks next best with the remainder of the field lacking form earlier this year.

Selections (7) One Pick (10) Power Wonderful (5) Cheonnyeonuiheuima (2) Jaesaengmyeongi

Race 13: Class 4 (1800M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

Another very tricky race. Although most of these have raced at this distance, none have recorded a win over it, so who is going to break that record? It could be (11) QUICK MOVE. She tackles the distance for the first time and was a very good winner over a mile in December. True her last two outings before the layoff were underwhelming but the hiatus looks to have done her good and she looked very sharp in a trial earlier this month. (6) FINE TRUMPET has already recorded two 3rd place finishes at class and distance, both times having led until the closing stages. He'll be on pace again and has claims to go all the way this time. (8) GANGHAN JILJU similarly has useful – if unspectacular – record at both class and distance and should be in the frame here. So too can (9) TIZ POWER. While she's definitely found her level, she should have enough about her to be competitive. (7) SWEEP WINNING is another who could compete for a place.

Selections (6) Fine Trumpet (11) Quick Move (8) Ganghan Jilju (9) Tiz Power
Next Best 7, 12

Race 14: Class 3 (1800M) Allowance / KRW 75 Million

A field of eleven line up in the fourteenth where we think we can get excited about one here. (4) SAMSEONG DOKKI looks a very promising Korean-bred who is flying through the grades. The Colors Flying gelding has won four of his six race starts. He has lined up over the 1800m twice winning both of them, including a five length demolition of a Class 4 field last start. He makes his own luck by sitting on speed so expect Francois Herholdt to let him roll forward from a good draw and prove hard to run down. (8) MAN OF THE MATCH has showed plenty of promise from his thirteen career starts to date, including four victories. He appeared to reach his grade somewhat at his past few starts but he is worth including. The chestnut was beaten over nine lengths last start but he had been in training for nine straight months, he won a trial in May suggesting the forced freshen-up may have done him the world of good. (7) GWANGHWAMUN SIDAE is a class and distance winner. The five-year-old saluted two starts back before running midfield when dropping back to the 1400m. He does his best work when positioned on speed so punters should know early if he is a good chance shortly after they jump. (6) CURLIN FANTASY is yet to break through from eighteen starts. He has placed behind some handy types and cannot be discounted.

Selections (4) Samseong Dokki (8) Man Of The Match (7) Gwanghwamun Sidae (6) Curlin Fantasy
Next Best 2, 11

Race 15: Class 1 (1600M) Allowance / KRW 110 Million

(10) SILLAUI JEONSEOL made all to win at this class over a mile back on February 9th. He is giving weight away today but the drop back in trip may mitigate that and he looked very well in a late May trial. He has strong claims to win again. (9) MUJEOK YEONGUNG has had the beating of plenty of these in recent starts, albeit at shorter distances. He is another who looked in fine order in a trial and will be taking on Sillaui Jeonseol for the early speed with a serious chance of being successful today. Silliaui Jeonseol's stablemate (6) PRO CONSUL has had an interrupted career but has plenty of talent and if fully in shape then he can be dangerous today. (7) FINEST WARRIOR races for the first time since September of last year but has plenty of quality about him and has looked good in trials. (4) WHINNY WING is another in the hunt.

Selections (10) Sillaui Jeonseol (9) Mujeok Yeongung (4) Whinny Wing (6) Pro Consul
