Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

A maiden for the Korean-bred gallopers will begin another monster fifteen race card at Seoul. Debutant (2) SARYEONI QUEEN looks a filly that is ready to strike early on after handing in a nice trial a few months back. The Divine Park filly finished third in her heat when clocking a good time when compared to her counterparts here. (11) GANGHAN YEOJEONSA has had the five starts yielding just the one minor placing. She trialed up in reasonable fashion and this will be one of the easiest assignments she has lined up in during her short career. (12) SAENAMUI BYEOL debuted in February just before the racing hiatus. The Hansen colt was well beaten after showing plenty of early speed. He trialed up in good fashion in May, suggesting he can figure upon resuming. (3) KAIZEN SILVER looks next best in a field where it is hard to make a case for plenty.

Selections (2) Saryeoni Queen (11) Ganghan Yeojeonsa (12) Saenamui Byeol (3) Kaizen Silver

Race 2: Class 6 (1000M) Allowance / KRW 75 Million

Juvenile maidens go around here with just three of the twelve having raced before, all three of them in the same race and none of them posting an especially impressive time. The best of them was (2) SOARA BABA, who finished 4th despite stopping the clock in a slower time than she did when trialing. That does though suggest she is capable of better and can accordingly improve here. That guides us towards the first-timers of whom (10) RAON DIA looks the pick. She's the third foal out of her Japanese-bred dam Tomiken Spring and both older half-siblings have been winners with Raon Tough Man, one year older, a winner of three from four. Her trial was good and while she has drawn wide she should be able to get on pace and can win this. (8) GEOLJAK MAN also showed some ability in trials with a front-running 2nd in a time that wasn't special, but certainly more than holds its own in this company. (3) ENERGIZER was slow in his trial but can't be faulted as he was first across the line having led all the way. The jockey booking is nothing if not eye-catching and he will accordingly be expected to go well first up.

Selections (10) Raon Dia (3) Energizer (8) Geoljak Man (2) Soara Baba

Race 3: Class 6 (1200M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

The Korean-bred three-year-old runners line up in the third where there is plenty of early speed engaged. (8) CHOEGO CAMP lines up for her second start after debuting mid-June. She took up to early running in her first start before being passed by a couple eventually finishing third. She clocked a reasonable time on a dry track which will see her be competitive here in a race with many chances. (7) MIR SKY lines up for her fifth start and resumed in good style earlier this month. The filly sat on speed at her first-up run and was gallant in defeat finishing second behind Fire Heart. (11) GLOBAL SUN has had two starts since we resumed racing finishing 8th when resuming and then 4th earlier this month. The Hansen filly will need some luck to overcome an awkward draw, but if she can find a position just off the speed she is every chance of running into the money. (2) ALCHAN NURI looks next best after finishing fifth over the 1300m last start. He is drawn to kick up and hold a prominent position. There will need to be some improvement however to be considered a winning chance.

Selections (8) Choego Camp (7) Mir Sky (11) Global Sun (2) Alchan Nuri

Race 4: Class 6 (1200M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

Three-year-old maiden fillies here with all but one of the twelve having raced before. Three of them debuted together over 1000M on June 20th with (4) CAREER HIGH coming off by far the best of them in 3rd place. She ran on well from quite a way back and with an additional furlong to get stuck into today, she could well be hard to beat. (11) UNOECHANGCHEON also finished in 3rd place on debut all the way back in October last year. She trialed just last week and can be a danger first-up today. (12) GREEN BOLT debuted creditably in 4th place over 1300M on June 28th. She only really started running in the closing stages so hopefully benefitted from that run and can be a bit sharper today. As for the rest, (2) WIND HILL is another with a 3rd place to his name. He's not raced since February but went through a trial in May and looked well.

Selections (4) Career High (12) Green Bolt (11) Unoechangcheon (2) Wind Hill
Next Best 3, 6
Fast Start 2, 7, 9

Race 5: Class 6 (1300M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

The fifth on the card has limited chances engaged with punters being able to put a line through many. (6) GEUMSONG ACE resumed in good style mid-June when settling just of speed and finishing off well to place behind Blue K. That particular race looks one of the stronger form lines coming into this race. Drawn barrier six, newly fully fledged jockey Moon Sung-hyeok can position her just off speed and improve just before the straight. (4) OKCHUMA debuts in the event and comes into the race after clocking a relatively good time in a trial. The Officer colt has drawn well for his debut. (7) RAON BIG MAN is yet to finish better than sixth in his three-start career to date. The Musket Man colt finished midfield last time out behind The Beast, with the time being fair for this grade. (10) NEUL CHAOREUM looks next best in a race where the majority of runners lack favourable form.

Selections (6) Geumseong Ace (4) Okchuma (7) Raon Big Man (10) Neul Chaoreum
Next Best 2, 9

Race 6: Class 6 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

More maidens here and quite a puzzle it is to solve too. (1) BOBBY BLADE has run twice so far and the filly has shown promise. She ran 4th over 1300M on June 27th, finishing well and she won't need to improve much if she is to win this. Only three of the twelve have ever managed even a runner-up finish. (8) THROUGH THE SKY managed it a month ago, however, and it was at this distance in a race which was equally weak. Expect his apprentice jockey to try to get him to the lead early and he can go close again. (9) E STRIKE didn't do much on debut on June 20th but the race was stronger than this one and he had offered a few glimpses in trials. His dam won seven races here. (10) GOLDILOCKS finished 6th behind Bobby Blade last start but Moon Se Young will be expected to extract some improvement from him. (2) SPEED MOUNTAIN has proven capable of running a time and while he didn't do that on his latest start, can be given another chance today. (5) ROAD HILL STORM was hinting at having figured things out just before the shutdown and the signs were good in a recent trial.

Selections (1) Bobby Blade (8) Through The Sky (9) E Strike (2) Speed Mountain
Next Best 6, 5, 11
Fast Start 2, 5, 8

Race 7: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

A field of ten go over the six furlongs in the seventh where there looks to be some potential handy types engaged. (5) HAEK SOCKS is the on top selection after an impressive debut win over the 1000m. The speedy type worked straight to the front last start and was too good, clocking a good time for Class 6 grade. (8) ICE PUNCH looks one of the main dangers coming off a fourth over this distance when clocking a good time. The colt won at his second start just before the hiatus over this distance and will get the services of Moon Se-young. (10) RAON FASHION is one for one after winning in good style on debut. He has been dealt a wide draw and will need to improve a couple of lengths to win after his time when winning was only fair. (3) CHEONHA YEOJE looks one capable of placing, showing some consistency in his twelve starts to date.

Selections (5) Haek Socks (8) Ice Punch (10) Raon Fashion (3) Cheonha Yeoje
Next Best 4, 8
Fast Start 1, 5, 8, 10

Race 8: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Tricky little handicap over the seven furlongs. (4) KING KANMOREU was a useful winner over 1300M two weeks ago. It was his maiden win but it was no surprise that he made all to see off inferior rivals. This will be tougher in terms of both class and distance but he could be equal to it. (3) MIRACLE ICHEON got his maiden win back in January and ran at this class for the first time on June 28th over 1700M. He didn't make much of an impact, although he did run into 6th late on but hopefully he comes in here fitter and better for the drop back in trip. (11) WORLD BEYOND too was a little underwhelming when 5th in an all-filly affair over 1200M on July 4th but she is better than that and the return of Moon Se Young, who has gone well on her before, may be a benefit today. (7) PUNCH POWER and (9) CHOEGANG MAGIC are others who look capable of running well in this company.

Selections (4) King Kanmoreu (11) World Beyond (3) Miracle Icheon (7) Punch Power
Next Best 9, 6
Fast Start 4, 11

Race 9: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Twelve Korean-bred gallopers go over the six furlongs at Class Four level in the ninth event. (9) YEONHUI ILCHUL resumed in good fashion last month when finishing second behind the handy Raon Tap Man. The Tiz Wonderful filly showed some early speed which we saw in her first couple of starts. Expect her to work forward once again and be there at the business end. (2) RAON TAP MAN was the horse that defeated Yeonhui Ilchul, when leading throughout. The Handicapper penalized him an additional three kilograms for the win making this a tougher assignment. He does have another good drawn though so there should be no problems getting on speed early. (4) SOLGAEBARAM has had a couple of runs since the hiatus, finishing third at the most recent of them behind Cheongang Seong. The four-year-old is unlikely to match the early speed of her counterparts but should be able to find a position just behind them giving her every chance when they swing into the straight. (3) WINNING BLADE resumes after a reasonable trial performance last week. He has won the two races from thirteen starts along with three minor placings. A forward showing here with fresh legs would not surprise.

Selections (9) Yeonhui Ilchul (2) Raon Tap Man (4) Solgaebaram (3) Winning Blade

Race 10: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

A rare race restricted to three-year-old imported fillies who are still at class 4 level. Only two have seen the inside of the winner's circle and both have to be taken seriously. (11) BLUE MACARON beat four of her rivals here on her way to a good win over 1200M in June. She carries a bit more weight today, but not too much and a repeat is not impossible. (8) SAENAE IRENE though, could overturn the form. She actually finished in front of Blue Macaron on debut in February, before coming from well back in that June 28th race to finish 2nd. The slight step up in trip today may well turn out to be in her favour. (10) MIGHTY BOOM was mighty impressive across two trials during the shutdown and so long as she didn't peak then, the Adios Charlie filly has to be considered a real chance. (6) GLOBAL JOY is the other one in the field with a victory. She hasn't really pushed on yet from that win, which was last November and was 5th behind Blue Macaron in June. There is clearly talent there, however, and don't rule out improvement. As for the rest, (2) SURISURIMA has been consistent across four starts so far and shouldn't be far away.

Selections (8) Saenae Irene (10) Mighty Boom (11) Blue Macaron (2) Surisurima
Next Best 6, 9
Fast Start 6, 7, 12

Race 11: Class 4 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

The imports go over the 1400m in the eleventh event where most of the main chances are drawn wide. Moon Se-young will be legged aboard (8) GLOBAL SOCKS who is looking for his second win at start number three. The Munnings gelding backed up his win with a fourth behind Baedari Princess last time out, hitting the line in good style. He hasn't shown much early speed in his runs to date, so the barrier is not detrimental to his chances. (9) DORAON POPEYE resumed in good style last month, finishing second over this distance. He is still yet to break maiden status but his turn of foot showed last start suggest he is not too far away. (7) DEO DEO BI is the galloper that defeated Doraon Popeye last time out. As a result, he will have to carry an additional 2kg for this assignment. He led throughout last start in contrast to his efforts last preparation. (10) SUN FO RE showed some improvement when resuming last start, finishing third in the Deo Deo Bi race. He looks a place chance once again if Kim Yong-geun can overcome a wide draw.

Selections (8) Global Socks (9) Doraon Popeye (7) Deo Deo Bi (10) Sun Fo Re

Race 12: Class 4 (1700M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

A winner of three from six so far, (7) COMPLETE KINGDOM stepped up to this class and to two-turns for the first time on June 20th and proceeded to lead for almost the entire way around before weakening and ending up in 3rd place. The experience should benefit and he can bounce back to victory here. It won't be easy though as there are plenty of good types in this. (2) MENI SPEED doesn't win out of turn but has an excellent placing record and beat three of these on his way to 2nd over 1800M on June 28th. He likes to have a bit of pace to run at and should pass quite a few late on. (10) WIND SKY had a tough day at the office on his first start since the resumption on July 4th. He is a winner at this distance, however, and Kim Yong-geun is likely to send him out on to the early speed this time. It's a similar story with (11) BLACK ZAPPER, who ran poorly at 1200M in June but has already placed at class and distance and should have come on for that run. (1) MILKY SHERRY and (3) CHEONJI AEGA are others in at least the placing hunt.

Selections (7) Complete Kingdom (2) Meni Speed (10) Wind Sky (11) Black Zapper

Race 13: Class 3 (1700M) Allowance / KRW 75 Million

Progressive types line up in the thirteenth event over the two turns. (3) CHEON GOE SEONG has been a consistent type to date from his fifteen starts, notching three wins and four minor placings. He resumed in good style clocking a good time behind Legend Storm when finishing fourth. He should strip fitter for the run and be one of the main chances come the furlong pole. (5) ROYAL SMARTY was a winner in this grade last start, over the 1800m. Lee Joon-chel timed his run to perfection, obtaining the lead in the shadows of the post. With the additional three kilograms it looks a much tougher assignment, but he looks a nice type going places. (12) PRIMO looks one that will be better for the first-up run. She is consistently around the money and has ran into some handy types in her career. She finished in good time last start behind Blue Chiton. (6) MUDO finished fifth in the Legend Storm race when resuming last start. Ideally Lim Gi-won would want to the settle the four-year-old closer to the speed as his best performances to date have been settling near or on the pace.

Selections (3) Cheon Goe Seong (5) Royal Smarty (12) Primo (6) Mudo
Next Best 8, 1

Race 14: Class 1 (1900M) Handicap / KRW 150 Million

(8) SUPER SOCKS was a super class and distance winner on June 28th, scoring comfortably in a race that featured three of his rivals here. The handicapper has been kind with only an additional 1.5kg today and another win is a distinct possibility. (5) GANGTOMA got nailed on the line by Morfhis over 1400M on June 20th. The Testa Matta entire is a competent horse at this distance as well and shapes to be a threat here. So too does the third-placegetter in the Morfhis race, (7) LIL' PATRON. That was his first try at class 1 and he still comes in under a nice light weight today. (4) GUTONGSA and (9) ULTRA ROCKET both came home behind Super Socks in that June 28th race but both are experienced and competent campaigners at this level and both should be involved. The wildcard is (10) URI, who takes his chance at this level for the first time after winning at class 2 over this distance on June 21st and he too should go close.

Selections (8) Super Socks (5) Gangtoma (7) Lil' Patron (4) Gutongsa
Next Best 10, 9
Fast Start 3, 5, 8

Race 15: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

A Class Three event will close out the big card where there looks a progressive type engaged. (3) BAEDARI PRINCE is a winner of two of his three career starts to date and gets into this event with just 51kg on his back. He is a speedy type and with gate three, he looks likely to work forward and prove hard to catch with the featherweight on his back. (1) SINGSING MARY resumes after an impressive trial. She is one that looks capable of eventually racing in company stronger than Class Three company. She seems to have a liking for the short course. (7) CUPID MISSION handed in a good performance with fresh legs. The grey led early on in his first-up mission before being gunned down by Charlie Style. He looks a good each way bet with just 52kg on his back. (5) DAEGUN BULPAE resumes for a new preparation coming off an encouraging trial. He is a winner of three races from eight starts and cannot be discounted. He does however have to give some of the others a substantial advantage in the weight scale.

Selections (3) Baedari Prince (1) Singsing Mary (7) Cupid Mission (5) Daegun Bulpae
