Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Allowance / KRW 75 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Eleven two-year-old Korean-bred gallopers will kick off proceedings where eight of them will grace the track for the first time. (6) BLACK CAR caught the eye in her qualifying trial when clocking 61.8 seconds for the 1000m. The time she clocked was much faster than any of her counterparts in this race. Trial watchers will note the way she covered the ground with ease. (4) JOEUNGIRL was another filly who trialed well. She won her heat by six lengths with more left in the tank. (5) COLJOY looks a top four chance on the basis of his trial. The Colonel John gelding clocked a fair time for his trial but will need some improvement to be a winning chance. (8) STAR BLADE looks next best after finishing second in his heat where he clocked 62.8 seconds on a firm surface.

Selections (6) Black Car (4) Joeungirl (5) Coljoy (8) Star Blade

Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

A maiden for three-year-old fillies only and a good one too with no fewer than four of them having run 2nd on their respective latest outings. One of those was (5) SARYEONI QUEEN, who was a front-running runner-up over 1000M on debut on July 25th. She should have learned from that and the step up in trip should be of little consequence and from a good draw she can lead again. (10) MAY BLUE and (6) GRACE QUEEN came home 2nd and 3rd when they raced each other over 100M on July 19th. Both step up in rip for the first time and both should be in the hunt to match or even better those finishes today. (11) WIND HILL does have experience of this distance, having run 2nd at it a month ago, leading until close to home. The draw has not been kind to her today but she should still go close. Among those who have raced at 1200M before, (9) GLOBAL SUN has recorded the fastest time, something she achieved when runner-up to Choego Camp a month ago and she too should be in the hunt today.

Selections (5) Saryeoni Queen (10) May Blue (11) Wind Hill (6) Grace Queen

Race 3: Class 6 (1200M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

Korean-bred maidens line up over the six furlongs in the third event. (4) CHEONSANGUI YEOIN looks hard to beat on the strength of her two runs to date. The Forest Camp filly comes off a last start third behind Joy Of King when clocking 62 seconds flat for the 1000m. This is her first try over 1200m. (8) SOARA BABA powered through the line last time out. The two-year-old is likely to settle rearwards once again with a wide draw. (10) USEUNG HWANHUI is another back marker who clocked a time that will see her be competitive in this event. (2) JEONGMUN LION looks next best based on the Divine Park colt's trial last month where he clocked a reasonable time.

Selections (4) Cheonsangui Yeoin (8) Soara Baba (10) Useung Hwanhui (2) Jeongmun Lion

Race 4: Class 6 (1300M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

After an unpromising trial, (7) FLYING STEED ran well for 5th on debut over this distance on August 2nd. The time was boosted somewhat by a very wet track but it was encouraging nevertheless, and the addition of Moon Se Young will do nothing to harm her chances. (4) WANGINHAENGCHA looked ready to win having started the year with a pair of minor placings before the shutdown intervened. She ran a solid 5th first-up last month, beating a couple of these along the way and from a good draw, has serious claims today. (2) HEUNG DREAM should also be on the early speed. He steps up in distance for the first time and it may well suit. (3) AMAZING WHIZ has already managed a couple of 4th places and can be aiming to at least match those today.

Selections (4) Wanginhaengcha (7) Flying Steed (3) Amazing Whiz (2) Heung Dream

Race 5: Class 6 (1300M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

The Korean-bred maidens line up over the 1300m in the fifth event on the card. (1) ACE HAMSEONG looks ready to breakthrough after placing at both starts this time in. His last effort saw him finish third behind Korean Pearl over this distance when clocking a respectable time. (2) POTENTIAL ENERGY finished fourth when resuming behind K.N. Power. The filly showed speed out of the gates on that occasion, with some improvement she can figure in this event. (4) CHEON CHONG has finished close up at his past couple of starts when hitting the line strongly. He steps up half a furlong which should assist his chances. (10) SPEED FLYING resumed over 1400m where the Colors Flying filly finished second. She showed a nice turn of foot so look for her eating up the ground late.

Selections (1) Ace Hamseong (2) Potential Energy (4) Cheon Chong (10) Speed Flying

Race 6: Class 6 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

(8) GOLDILOCKS stepped up to this distance last start and ran a much-improved 2nd, coming from off the pace. Moon Se Young remains aboard and everything here looks just right for him to get the porridge. (1) GREEN BOLT has run on well from unpromising positions to finish 4th and 5th in her two starts so far. She gets the chance to cover a bit more distance today and it may well suit. (4) HOSUA ran a useful 4th on his latest appearance on July 18th. The Point Of Entry gelding has never run better than 3rd but is another who looks nicely in and David Breux's booking may help. (2) SHINY QUEEN and (10) GEUMA MAJESTY, the latter along with Goldilocks the only one in the race to have finished 2nd at some stage, are others in the placing hunt.

Selections (8) Goldilocks (4) Hosua (1) Green Bolt (10) Geuma Majesty

Race 7: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

The seventh event is one of the more interesting Class 5 races you will see, with plenty of good form being brought into the race. (7) CHOTOMA goes on top after winning on debut over this distance. The Blame gelding clocked a good time for Class 6 company and based on the strength of the win, we think he can make it two from two. (1) OUR SIMON is first up after having a solid preparation around the turn of the new year. She trialed up in good style, a forward showing would not surprise here. (11) NAUI JEONSEOL is another that is first up after showing some ability last preparation. He has had just the three starts and managed to place at all three. Interestingly two starts back he finished second to Oaks winner Uaryung. (9) CAMP TOUCH looks next best and is one that can run into some minor money. The five-year-old mare has finished in the top five on twelve occasions from twenty starts.

Selections (7) Chotoma (1) Our Simon (11) Naui Jeonseol (9) Camp Touch

Race 8: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Fillies (and one mare) only in this tricky little handicap. Two of the eleven are up in class having recorded their maiden wins on their respective latest starts and both look to be in the hunt. Having previously come from well back to run 2nd over 1300M, (2) OLD BLADE stepped up to 1400M on July 19th and with Moon Se Young riding for the first time, went to the front from the gate and ran on for an easy on the eye victory. Expect similar tactics here and a similar result. (4) GOOD VOW also impressed when winning over 1000M on what was just her second start. She too will be on pace and looks to have the potential for more success. (11) SAEROUN BOBAE remains a maiden following ten attempts but has finished in the minor placings in each of her latest five starts and has every chance of keeping that record going today. (3) SET THE PACE, who has won at this distance, and (7) JEJUI YOJEONG are among several others capable of challenging for the minor money.

Selections (2) Old Blade (4) Good Vow (11) Saeroun Bobae (7) Jejui Yojeong

Race 9: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

The Class 4 gallopers line up over the 1400m where the event is open to foreign and Korean-bred gallopers. (3) BLUE MACARON is the on top selection after resuming in good style this preparation. The Imagining filly backed up her first-up win with a second behind Surisurima last time out. She's a speedy type who has drawn ideally for her racing pattern. (2) ECHO FIRST ON is one of the more experienced types engaged. The filly improved last time out with Moon Se-young aboard when sitting on-speed and finishing third behind Geumjayu. The Moon stays with her once again and will have a handy draw to use to his advantage. (4) MAGIC PAYNTER looks an each way chance after finishing third behind Legend Day last time out. The filly was beaten a considerable margin but this looks an easier assignment. (9) MEOTJINDAE looks next best after notching her first placing when second behind Geumjayu last time out. Consistency seems to be the query with the filly.

Selections (3) Blue Macaron (2) Echo First On (4) Magic Paynter (9) Meotjindae
Next Best 8, 11

Race 10: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Really good race with plenty of live chances. (5) WHITE COMET ran an excellent 3rd behind the promising Mighty New at this distance on July 19th having led for much of the way around. He's nicely drawn to lead again and surely goes close. (3) EAGLE EYE came from off the pace to run 3rd first-up over 1200M in June. Munro knows the filly well and they've drawn beter today. The 4.5kg less that (11) FEDERAL CAT carries today surely puts him in the hunt. He was a class and distance winner off a similar mark two starts back and the apprentice who takes the mount today has shown no fear in getting forward from an outside gate. (2) MONEY ZIF too was a class and distance winner as recently as June. In his case the weight is a slight concern but he can be competitive. (6) SONGAM CANDY and the up in class (9) SPEED HEUKRYONG are among others in the placing frame. (10) SUPER ECTON's latest couple of showing have been better than the results suggest, and he too can improve.

Selections (5) White Comet (3) Eagle Eye (11) Federal Cat (2) Money Zif

Race 11: Class 4 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

A field of eleven imports will line up in the eleventh where they are all chasing their first win. (1) SAENAE IRENE has been knocking on the door of late, placing at both starts this time in. The Constitution filly comes off a last start third behind Surisurima which reads well for this assignment. Kim Yong-geun stays aboard which is a good sign. (2) SAMDAN GASOK lines up for his third start after performing fairly at his first two appearances. The Strong Mandate two-year-old carries just the 52kg and this appears his easiest assignment to date. (11) GRAYDOL will have to overcome the outside gate but is one that represents some value. The three-year-old ran into some handy types early on in his career, since resuming he has been working through the line strongly. (5) HIDDEN SOCKS was one-paced through the line when resuming but has notched three minor places from five career starts. Moon Se-young will ride the Run Away And Hide colt for the first time in a race.

Selections (1) Saenae Irene (2) Samdan Gasok (11) Graydol (5) Hidden Socks
Next Best 9, 8
Fast Start 4, 7

Race 12: Class 5 (1700M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

Another very tricky puzzle to solve. (10) ILBO DEUNGCHEON is up in both class and distance today but he won his maiden victory in such style on July 18th that he gets the nod again. He made all over 1400M while he will need to improve, he looks the one to beat. It's a similar story with (4) DAEHYEONG HOJAE, who is also up in class after winning at 1400M. He too will be on pace and can go close. No concerns about the distance for (9) GYEONGBU DORYEONG, who was prominent throughout before running on to win at this distance on July 5th. He too is up in class but in the frame. (1) GABO PULL QUEEN and (11) CHEONGDAM CURLING both enter following runner-up finishes in their respective latest starts, both of them at class and distance, while (2) MANE HANA and (8) CHOEGANG SINGI have both proven themselves capable of running the kind of times at can win a race at this level.

Selections (10) Ilbo Deungcheon (9) Gyeongbu Doryeong (1) Gabo Pull Queen (11) Cheongdam Curling
Next Best 8, 4, 2

Race 13: Class 1 (1900M) Allowance / KRW 150 Million

The Class One gallopers line up over the two turns in the thirteenth event where a case can be made for many. (7) SUPER SOCKS has proven himself as a very capable type winning eight of his seventeen starts including several in this grade. Moon Se-young will be legged aboard the five-year-old with Lee Hyeon-jong out with a broken toe. The Two Step Salsa gelding relishes his racing when sitting on speed, expect The Moon to bustle him out of his central draw and work forward in the early stages of the race. (11) THUNDER LIGHT resumed in good style behind Super Socks. The entire has finished in the first three on twelve occasions from nineteen career starts. It will be seven weeks between runs for the lightly raced six-year-old. (4) ROAD WINNER is another handy type who has notched seven victories from fifteen starts. He finished fifth behind Jangsan Power last time out when settling towards the tail of the field. His best racing has been when he sits closer in the run, which Park Eul-woon will get the chance to do so with a better draw today. (10) GUTONGSA comes off a last start victory at this class and distance. He carries an extra 2kg for his win but still has each way claims based on the winning performance. Good race.

Selections (7) Super Socks (11) Thunder Light (4) Road Winner (10) Gutongsa
Next Best 6, 1
Fast Start 1, 3, 7, 8

Race 14: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

A winner of four from seven so far, (10) GEOSEN JILJU scored impressively in in the GC Trophy in July making all over this distance to see off a useful set of rivals. He has beaten a couple of these already and should be winning again. (11) RAON SERENA made an encouraging return to action, finishing 2nd over 1800M in late June having previously shown good speed in a trial. She drops back in trip here but should be a factor. (3) SPEED HWANGNYONG is up in class after a good win at this distance on August 2nd. The time was made faster by the track condition and this is stiffer but he can be competitive. (1) HWANGGEUM HAE is similarly up in class after a runner up finish at the distance. He carries 5kg less today and can take advantage of that.

Selections (10) Geosen Jilju (11) Raon Serena (3) Speed Hwangnyong (1) Hwanggeum Hae
Next Best 4, 7

Race 15: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

If the script goes to plan, we should have an all-the-way winner in the last event. (4) CLEAN UP BELLA returns to restricted company after being tested in an International Exchange race in July. Th e Oxbow colt has been mighty consistent in his five start career. Lim Gi-won should be able to take up the running from gate four, dictate the pace of the race and prove too strong in the final stages. (5) FIGHTING LANGFUHR should improve second-up after also having a go in an International Exchange race when resuming. The four-year-old is yet to win but has shown plenty of ability. (6) MEOTJIN WANGJA comes off a last start placing in this grade behind Singsing Marry. The colt's racing pattern of late will see him reel off a strong sectional. (10) OHTHE PAZIBILITIES finished fourth when resuming last time out. The grey has been in this company for quite some time and has shown he is capable of collecting a cheque in similar fields.

Selections (4) Clean Up Bella (5) Fighting Langfuhr (6) Meotjin Wangja (10) Ohthe Pazibilities
