Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

A field of twelve to line up in the first where all but two runners are on debut. Watching the vision of (12) LONDON ACTIVE suggests the Colonel John filly is ready to perform at her first race start. The two-year-old bounced out of the gates in good style in her trial before running through the line in good fashion. The outside draw is a concern, but she should be able to muster quickly and sit on speed. (4) K N MAGIC is another debutant that trialed up in good style. The Kantharos filly clocked a good time on a rain affected track. She is drawn well and should be able to sit just behind the leading division. (5) RAON GARAM appears to be an each-way chance in a field with plenty of unknown ability. She is by the progressive stallion Musket Man whose progeny have been performing well early on in their careers. (8) CHEROKEE MARINE is one of just two gallopers engaged that has had a previous run. The Thunder Moccasin gelding finished fifth behind the very talented East Jet on debut but was beaten from here to Gangnam.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

Maidens go around here with four of the twelve racing for the first time. We're going to stick with experience though and (3) HAPPY SOCKS perhaps has the edge. The Tiz Wonderful filly ran on very nicely for 3rd behind a couple of promising ones on debut over 1000M in August and the additional furlong should suit. It's a similar story with (8) LUCKY WORLD who ran very similarly for his own 3rd place on debut and can be expected to run on strongly again and go close. (1) MAGICUI HAMSEONG could only manage 6th but nevertheless put in a fast time on a sloppy track on his August debut and is another who may have some promise. (9) GO GO STAR has raced twice with solid 3rd and 4th place finishes to her name, each time with a contrasting running style and she should be there of thereabouts again.

Selections (3) Happy Socks (8) Lucky World (9) Go Go Star (1) Magicui Hamseong

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1300M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

A field of twelve lightly raced maidens will take to the track in the third event. (10) LEGEND WIN is the on top selection albeit he has had six previous attempts to break maiden status. The Old Fashioned colt comes off a last start third when sitting on speed and being passed by a couple quicker in the run home. His opposition today is not overly strong, and he looks like an each-way chance who will get every chance sitting on pace. (12) CHEONJI ULLIM has finished close up at his two starts to date. The three-year-old hasn't raced since February when he finished fourth behind Ice Punch. He trialed up in a few weeks ago and clocked a good time. The draw is a concern, but he needs to be treated as a winning chance. (5) SPECIAL STORY has notched placings at his past two starts. The filly's time wasn't overly fast in these performances, but her competition today looks even. (1) SPEED FLYING comes off successive minor placing during the mid-part of the year. The filly is likely to settle closer to the speed as per last start, from the good draw.

Seoul Race 4: Class 4 (1300M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

(1) UNCLE BELL made all for a commanding maiden win at start number five back in August with a couple of these a long way back down the track behind him. He's at the same class today and although he carries a whopping additional 5kg he remains hard to bet against. There are a couple who could beat him though. (4) PINE TOUCH has come close on a number of occasions over his five starts so far and has shown he has a strong finish. The slight step up in trip today may suit. (11) FULL BOOSTER comes in off a last start runner-up finish and if jockey Ueda Masashi can overcome the wide draw to get him close to the pace, he could be in with a shout. (2) SIRIUS A and (8) EAGLE EAGLE are among a number of others who could aim for the places, the latter a strong contender to challenge the favourite for the early lead.

Seoul Race 5: Class 6 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

The maiden gallopers go over the seven furlongs in the fifth event on the card. (9) POWER MUSIC has shown enough previously to suggest she can figure. The Winchester filly has settled both rearwards and on speed in her past couple of starts, from barrier nine she may have to settle midfield or worse. She has placed at two of her past three starts including a last start second over this distance. (7) ONE PUTT handed in a better performance last start back in August when finishing second over this distance. The three-year-old hit the line with gusto and is likely to settle towards the tail once again, before reeling off a good sectional. (8) ACE HAMSEONG is another who has finished close up at his past few starts. His times have been competitive enough to suggest a forward showing, he should be benefited from a lack of early speed engaged in the event. (4) TRUE looks best of the rest in a race where there is no standout.

Busan Race 2: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

The speed map for the second looks to be sluggish suggesting riders that wish to work forward should be able to do so. (7) HAPPY WITCH lines up for her third start after a good start to her career in the mid-part of the year. The Officer filly won on debut in June in good time before finishing second over the six furlongs in July. She looks to be one of a few runners who can work forward and sit in the first few in running. (11) DOCTOR GREY has shown that he is capable of reeling off a good sectional. He finished off strongly last time out running into third behind VIP King last time out in August. He looks one to watch as he steps out over a long journey down the track. (10) PARTY LION has not raced since January but trialed up in good style in August. The filly has finished in the top three on three occasions from eight attempts but is yet to break maiden status. The horse looks best suited if Jo In-kwon can get her to work forward early. (4) QUEEN OF ADELE looks next best and one worth including in your novelty bets.

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

A decent field line up here but it's hard to look past (1) OLD BLADE. He's won just one of his five starts to date but that came at this distance and was in a time a full two-seconds faster than any of the others in this field has achieved. He should hit the front relatively early and will be very hard to catch. (3) A.P. PATEK is up in class following a maiden score over this distance on August 29th. While he would need to improve significantly to challenge the favourite, there isn't too much else that should intimidate, and he can aim for the places here. (8) MAGIC PLAN is another who got her maiden win at this distance and she went on to run a useful 4th on her first try at this class in August which again should put her in placing contention today. (10) DAEHYEONG HOJAE and (12) DREAM GIRLS can dispute the minor money.

Busan Race 3: Class 4 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

(5) MR. VALOR got his maiden win with a front-running performance over this distance back in June. He was a touch disappointing on his first try at this class in July but then ran well for 2nd over a mile in August. With a good start, he might be too good here. (2) RAON YEOGEOL is a filly who looks to have plenty of talent, but she didn't really show it in either the Luna Stakes or the Korean Oaks against the best fillies of her age group. Dropping back into more limited company today may put her right in the mix as it has already done for one or two others who came out of the Oaks. The experienced (7) TIZ POWER is a touch inconsistent but is proven at this level. She drops back in trip for the first time in a while and is accordingly likely to be on pace early. (10) MY TIZ GEM came from off the pace to score a really good class and distance win in August. She carries an additional 3kg today but warrants respect. (9) BUGYEONG CHEONSA was 4th in the same race, something she can match today.

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

The imported gallopers will line up over 1400m in the seventh. (4) JANGSAN FOREVER looks to pick himself if he can reproduce an effort to what he showed us back in August. He only carries an additional two kilograms and lines up in the same grade. The Conveyance gelding looks a progressive type from the Riccardi yard. (11) SENSE HAENGI finished runner up to Jangsan Forever last start when hitting the line strong in the final stages. The four-year-old is yet to break maiden status but finishes in the top five more often than not. A maiden win is likely this preparation. (9) STRO REA notched her first placing last start back in February when third over the 1200m. The lightly raced five-year-old looks capable of some minor money in today's event. (5) USEUNG TEUKKI started his career in good style but has since been relegated back to Class 4 company. He comes off a last start third in August over the 1300m and another placing here is not out of the question.

Busan Race 4: Class 4 (1600M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

A field of twelve will line up over the mile in the fourth at Class Four level. It has been a long time coming for (9) FINAL FRONT to win his second race. The One Cool Cat colt has had thirty-one starts yielding one win and ten minor placings. He has finished in the top three at his past three starts. Top jockey Djordje Perovic has been named to ride the four-year-old and we can take some confidence knowing he has been named. (4) CHANGE BACK is another 'non-winner' saluting in just one race from sixteen starts. The four-year-old possesses a place strike rate better than 50% and will be benefited by the 4kg claim of up-and-coming apprentice Mo Junho. (11) GLOBAL TOP has begun her career in good style notching two victories from seven starts. The Peace Rules filly will line up in Class 4 company for the first time but she has been placed in a race that does not have much depth. (8) SINBIHAN YEOIN is considered another winning chance. The filly performed well back in June when finishing second over the two turns. The four-year-old will drop back to the mile with fresh legs and she should be treated as an each way prospect.

Selections (9) Final Front (4) Change Back (11) Global Top (8) Sinbihan Yeoin

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

A really competitive race with any number coming in with winning claims. (7) GEUMA SUPREME and (1) JEONGMUN SAI came home 2nd and 5th when they raced each other over 1700M back in mid-August. The weight is once again in Geuma Supreme's favour but the srop down in trip may neutralize that a little and Jeongmun Sai, who is the more consistent of the pair, has a fair chance of overturning that form. (3) LUXURY CAPTAIN had a hard time at 200M on his latest start but should be much more comfortable back at a distance at which he made all win over back in July. He's well drawn to be on pace right from the start. (10) MAMMA ROMA doesn't win out of turn, but the filly rarely misses a paycheck, and she should be in the mix at the business end of the race. (8) ACE CANT too should be capable in this company.

Busan Race 5: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(8) MIRACLE DREAMING has only finished outside of the top two on one of seven occasions and comes in off a very good 2nd place to the talented Rapido Man on what was his first try at this level. He has been a bit unruly in the past – a wild but ultimately successful stretch run in June springs to mind – but Djordje Perovic in the saddle today puts the mind at ease and he can win. (11) YEONGCHEON JILJU finished in midfield in both the Korean Derby and Minister's Cup and back in shallower waters today should go closer. Similarly (2) TWO TWO GREAT took the fillies' route of the Luna and the Korean Oaks, likewise finishing in midfield. She too should find the majority of this field much more amenable. That's not to say it's a weak race though as the likes of (4) CHOEGANG TOUCH and (9) BANJIUI JEONSEOL are more than capable of giving anyone a good race.

Seoul Race 9: Class 2 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

A brilliant Class Two event with many chances for punters to consider, made even harder by all runners being fresh. (1) GEOSEN JILJU has proven to be a very handy Korean-bred winning five of her eight career starts to date. The Lee Shin-young trained filly is a speedy type who is heavily aided by an inside draw. With just the 52kg on her back she should take some beating. (5) BAREM is another filly that has started her career in good style. The Flat Out four-year-old has won two races and finished second on her other four outings. She also gets in with just the 52kg on her back and should be treated as a winning chance. (8) CUPID GUY is a last start class and distance winner. The four-year-old showed a brilliant turn of speed back in August when coming from eighth on the turn to gun down the leaders. (10) RAON TAP MAN has also progressed through the grades early on in his career winning three of his eight starts and placing on four other occasions. The Musket Man gelding possesses plenty of early speed so look for him trying to cross early. Good race.

Busan Race 6: Class 2 (1800M) Allowance / KRW 90 Million

(1) SAMSEONG DOKKI is turning into a top-class competitor with six wins from his nine starts so far and he is surely Class 1 bound. He has won two of his last three, beating plenty of these in the process. He does carry 57kg today but will surely be too good. It will nevertheless be a useful test for him as there are some decent competitors going. (6) CALL UP THE GUARD has plenty of experience at this level and was 4th on his most recent appearance behind some good horses in August. (5) CHEONNYEONUI GANG is a likely pacesetter and beat a couple of these on his way to 4th place at class and distance in August. (9) WORLD NUMBER ONE was 6th in that same race and should improve today while (11) TOUGH GREEN, well back behind Samseong Dokki on her latest start, is perhaps the wildcard.

Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (1800M) Allowance / KRW 75 Million

Quite a treat for a class 3 race, this as three of the year's top three-year-olds face off. (7) HEUNGHAENG JILJU ran an excellent 3rd in the Minister's Cup, the final leg of the Triple Crown at the end of August having finished in the same position in The Korean Derby earlier in the month. He likes to come from off the pace and looks to have more development in him and has a real chance of winning here. He renews hostilities with (12) DETERMINATION, who had a disappointing Derby – even being brought down after the line – and then went on to finish 4th in the Minister's Cup, although the margin behind Heunghaeng Jilju was a significant one. He too will be rattling home late and has a chance. (8) RAON TOUGH MAN ran 2nd in the Derby but then in the Minister's Cup ran out early, dumping his jockey – who does re-united with him today – over the rail. He has been through a trial since in good order and will be a contender. Those three look set to dispute the finish but there is plenty of other talent in the race too. (3) SIMON QUEEN and (5) SAENAE SPURT both look especially capable of causing the favourites some problems.

Seoul Race 11: Class 1 (1800M) Allowance / KRW 110 Million

A sensational race to finish off proceeding from South Korea for the weekend. Hard to go past our favourite chestnut (5) CHEONGDAM DOKKI after his brilliant efforts in the Korean Stayers' Series earlier this year. The six-year-old took out the first two legs before having his colours lowered by the progressive Tiz Plan in the final leg – the Busan Mayor's Cup. In saying that, the chestnut has hardly put a step wrong this year and looks to be the class engagement. He will have to carry 60kg, but he won the first two legs of the stayers' series with 59kg so the weight shouldn't be too much of an issue. (8) LIL' PATRON has taken all before him since starting his racing career. The four-year-old is yet to win in this class but has placed twice from three attempts. Lee Chul-kyung is the beneficiary of Alan Munro not being available for the ride. He is a versatile type and does not necessarily have to work forward from the awkward gate. It would be remiss of us not to tip (11) SHAMROCKER to finish third. The seven-year-old is just a couple of lengths of being a Korea topliner, he managed to finish third in all three legs of the stayers' series. He will settle back and run on strong once again. Last year's Derby winner (9) GLOBAL CHUKJE can never be excluded over the two turns. He is capable of running into some minor money. (4) ROAD WINNER, (6) TAP FASHIONED and (12) SUPER FLUID all have claims in a race with plenty of ability.
