Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Allowance / KRW 45 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

A juvenile maiden to open with and six of the eleven race for the very first time. From a nice draw, (2) MENI GOLD is the pick. She was a little slow away in her trial but ran on pleasingly enough when hustled up the inside to cross the line in 3rd place in a fair time. The jockey booking suggests she is ready to win first-up. (7) DOUBLE EDGE was handy to the speed in his trial and responded very well when asked for an effort in the home straight, coasting the final half furlong and crossing the line in front. It was a good time and he too has solid claims on debut. In terms of experience, (9) GALSAEK HYANGGI ran on from an unpromising position on debut on August 7th, recorded a very good final furlong, albeit far too late to make an impact on the race. With a better start, she can improve today. So too (10) BROWN CHARM, who ran on but with too much to do and should also be better for the run. Neither draw especially well though. Returning to the first-timers, (6) P N S HER is another who could trialed competently and can be competitive.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1000M) Allowance / KRW 45 Million

More juvenile maidens, again with six of the eleven making their racecourse debuts. There is some positive experience on show though and we shall side with it. (9) RAON THE SPURT did nothing in her trial but ran strongly for 2nd place in a fast time on debut at this trip having led early. She is a "full" sister to Raon Tough Man, who won five of his ten starts, and while the draw is a little bit worse than last time, she can win. Also drawing worse is a horse she beat last time, (10) COMPLETE TIME. The Old Fashioned filly was sent off as favourite having won a trial in good order but didn't quicken as well as hoped and ended up in 4th. She should have learned from that experience and should be worth another chance here. (3) GREENBACK was a trial winner who went on to run 5th on debut in a fast time on July 18th. She draws well here and should be looking to improve. Plenty of promise among the first-time starters as well. (8) MAGIC GRACE won her trial in fine order while (5) ORGALIM is sure to have plenty of backers first up too.

Selections (9) Raon The Spurt (10) Complete Time (3) Greenback (8) Magic Grace

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1200M) Allowance / KRW 22 Million

Competitive affair here. (8) GREEN FEELSTAR comes in having won at class and distance on June 26th when having drawn wide, she settled midfield and steadily improved, winning comfortably in the end. She has had nine weeks off since then but carries exactly the same weight and get a better draw. She has claims to back up. (7) FANCY PANTS may be yet to win after eight attempts but has never finished any worse than 5th. She was on pace for her latest 3rd place at this distance on July 24th and should be up there again today. (3) SHINE MUSIC is another who comes in with decent consistency and while she has finished no better than 3rd, she has a good time to her name at the trip, albeit on a wet track, and has lacing claims here. (2) HERO SPEED and (1) LAGERTHA are among others with at least placing chances.

Selections (8) Green Feelstar (7) Fancy Pants (3) Shine Music (2) Hero Speed

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 33 Million

(8) ACHIM GISANG suffered her first defeat at start number four on July 18th. It was, frankly, a tough ask for her that day as she was first-up following almost six months out; she was stepping up to this class for the first time and she was tackling 1400M for the first time. In the event she got to the lead and was looking well until the top of the straight before running out of petrol and finishing 4th. She should be better for that experience off a further six weeks out and dropping back in trip today to a distance at which she ran a super time in January, she is the one to beat. It won't be easy though because (6) DREAM KNOCK is up in class following a super first-up win over 1200M on July 18th when she was wide throughout but ran on to win by eight-lengths. Her racing pattern suggests the step up in trip will suit and she looks a big danger here. (10) NONGBON BADA comes in having beaten three of these on her way to 3rd place at class and distance on July 24th when drawn even wider than she is today. She has a strong finish on her and will be poised to run home strong. (2) ELITE POWER is a winner at this distance in a fast time at class 6 level and while she had a poor day at the office last time, she draws much better here and can be competitive. (3) AFLEET MARINE among others in the placing frame.

Selections (8) Achim Gisang (6) Dream Knock (10) Nongbon Bada (2) Elite Power

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 33 Million

The ultra-consistent (1) TANK SOCKS looks ready to return to the winner's circle here. In her latest two she has come from well off the pace to run 4th and 3rd, both at this class and distance and the inside gate should give options. She has a strong finish and with a little less to do late on today, can win. (6) TYCHE FIRE drops back in trip with his recent starts all having been over 1700M. He is top-rated in the race and has every chance of going close here. (4) BLACK CHARM was 5th behind Tyche Fire over 1700M two starts back but rebounded to run 2nd at the same distance at the end of May. He has had almost three months off since and is another who may appreciate the step back in trip here. So too may (3) DREAM MAX. Her style had been to come from well off the pace so it was no surprise when she was tried around two turns for her first two goes at this level. It didn't really work out so she drops back to the distance at which she got her maiden win and she draws very nicely. (2) JILJU DAERO one of a number of others with at least placing hopes.

Selections (1) Tank Socks (6) Tyche Fire (4) Black Charm (3) Dream Max

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(6) TOUGH MAN has three wins and three runner-up finishes from six starts to date. He comes in off a commanding all the way score at class and distance on June 26th but he faces his toughest challenge to date here under a formidable 58kg, a rise of 4.5kg from last time. Nevertheless, he has plenty of ability and plenty of speed, he draws well enough and he can win again. (4) CHEONMA TODAY is a winner of four from nine so far and while she has struggled whenever asked to travel further, including at her last start over 1400M, she is an unbeaten four from four at today's distance. She too draws very well and has a full 6kg advantage over Tough Man. (1) RAON DIA put in a shocker last time. She was hampered at the start and then barely registered. We will draw a line through that and instead go on her previous form which was consistent and if repeated can see her aiming for a place here. (7) SAMANTHA CHEETAH and (2) SIMPLE STYLE among others with placing hopes.

Selections (6) Tough Man (4) Cheonma Today (1) Raon Dia (7) Samantha Cheetah

Seoul Race 7: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(12) RAON PINK is a winner of four from six so far, including her latest three, registering some great times along the way at various distances up to and including today's. She is up in class today and has drawn the widest gate – the latter more of a concern – but she carries a feather weight on her back and can overcome it. (8) GEOMPO beat three of these on his way to a solid class and distance 3rd place on May 15th. He has had three months off since then but he can settle behind the early speed and be a danger running on. Disregard the latest effort of (1) DREAM PO RE, which was also three-months ago when from gate nine he raced wide with no cover over the 1200M and finished well back. The inside gate should help him today and he has run some great times at this distance. (6) FIGHTING HERO mixes his form but is another who can go well at this distance while the very experienced (10) MONEY ZIF is another in the placing frame.

Selections (12) Raon Pink (8) Geompo (1) Dream Po Re (6) Fighting Hero

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Tricky one. Do we still have faith in (3) BLACK MUSK after a narrow defeat and then a final furlong capitulation over 1200M last start? He still has two sensational times at this distance, the latter of them when carrying 56kg and beating one of his main rivals here. He was used up early in that 1200M race trying to overcome gate twelve, but he draws better today and is perhaps worth one more chance, even at the weight. (1) ANYANG OXEN finished 3rd to Black Musk's 2nd back in March. He has consistently run good times at this distance and gets a great draw. His jockey today had ridden Black Musk in all four of that horse's starts prior to today (including picking up a ban for the premature shift in from the wide gate last time) so read into that what you will. (4) LIONETTE comes in off a really good 3rd place at this distance on July 25th when he settled back and ran on strongly. He looks very nicely in here from a great draw and under a light weight. (10) TRIPLE KINGDOM comes back in trip following good work over 1700M and along with (8) MIGHTY POP is at least a place chance.

Selections (3) Black Musk (1) Anyang Oxen (4) Lionette (10) Triple Kingdom
Next Best 8, 7

Seoul Race 9: Class 2 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

A super race in prospect. (4) CARVING CROSS saw his winning streak come to an end on his first try at this class on July 10th when he led from the gate but got taken down in the closing stages. It wasn't a bad run by any means and while he does have to deal with 56kg today, given the times he has run at this distance already, he is worth another chance. (9) CONSTI SOLO is developing into a talent too. He has three wins from five including two at this distance at class 4 and class 3. He came up short when favourite last start when 2nd but has to come up in class anyway. That means he gets a nice weight allowance which brings him into the reckoning. Five of the others raced one another at class and distance on July 24th. (7) GEUMA ACME was having his first crack at this level following back to back successes at class 3 at this distance and while he only managed 3rd, he has every chance of overturning the form on that day's winner, (2) BLUE CHITON. Blue Chiton too is not without a chance despite going up in the weights while (6) SEOURI BYEOL will as ever be running on late and potentially into the money.

Selections (4) Carving Cross (9) Consti Solo (7) Geuma Acme (2) Blue Chiton
