Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Three-year-old maidens open proceedings. It's hard to go far past (3) SUNGAN TOUCH. After a lackluster debut last Christmas Day, he ran a well beaten 2nd to Daemul, who runs in Sunday's Korean Derby, before finishing 3rd on his latest outing on March 26th. Both were at 1300M and both times he led. He draws well here to lead again and should win. (10) NAMSAN MUJEOK hasn't shown much in the way of speed but probably won't need to find much more in order to get on the board here. He comes in off an improved 3rd place at start number four on April 10th when he sat midfield and ran on, and he should go close here. (1) DAECHEON BEAUTY wasn't ready when debuting last October but looked much better when returning for another go on April 9th when 4th at this distance. He should have come on for the run and can continue to make progress today. (5) MIGHTY ANN and debut-maker (2) GEUMA POSH are others who could make an impact.

Selections (3) Sungan Touch (10) Namsan Mujeok (1) Daecheon Beauty (5) Mighty Ann

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

More three-year-old maidens and a few of them look ready to win. (2) LAROMANEE just about gets the nod having shown steady improvement across her five starts to date, culminating in a 3rd place finish in her latest start when she was prominent throughout in an all-filly race over 1200M on April 3rd. She steps up to this trip for the first time, draws well, gets Moon Se-young aboard, and has every chance. (1) GEONGONILCHEOK is the main danger. He too has shown progress over five outings and enters off back-to-back 3rd place finishes, the latter of which was at this distance on April 16th. He will be on pace here and won't be far away. (6) GUKDAE CLASS debuted in that April 16th race and ran a decent 5th. With some natural improvement out of that, he can go close here. (5) FLASH THUNDER and (4) SINHAN TEUKSONG are others in at least the placing frame.

Selections (2) Laromanee (1) Geongonilcheok (6) Gukdae Class (5) Flash Thunder

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

Small field of filly maidens and while it is not a strong field, it is competitive. (5) EOMCHEONGNAN GIRL will probably be the favourite. She is the only runner in the field to have a 2nd place to her name and enters off a fair 4th place at this distance on April 17th when she settled in midfield and ran on. Those two factors are enough to put her on top here. (4) BARAMSAL also comes in off a last start 4th, her best finish to date, over 1200M on April 10th. She steps up in trip here but has been finishing off her races pleasingly enough so it may suit. (1) LONDON POWER has two 3rd places in her record. She went back to trial after her latest start in early April and looked extremely well in it. She looks to be the natural leader here and should be in this a long way. (3) BLUE KAISER and (6) STAR PRINCESS others who may hit the minors.

Selections (5) Eomcheongnan Girl (4) Baramsal (1) London Power (3) Blue Kaiser

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

We'll take a chance on (8) P N S GAMBOL stepping up again. He did absolutely nothing for five starts but with a 3rd and a then a win from his latest two, he appears to have figured things out. His win came when making all over 1200M on April 30th and they turn around quickly here. He is up in class and in distance but should be on pace and can measure up. The favourite will be (9) BLUE HAMMER. He is yet to win in nine attempts but has four top-three finishes to his name, including at his latest start on April 17th at this distance when he settled midfield and ran on well. He has had a tendency to leave himself a little bit too much today but this looks like his best chance of picking up a win. (10) OLD START comes up in trip after a good 3rd place at this class over 1200M on April 10th. He finished off well that day and the additional trip may suit. (5) STAR RUSH and (6) SANGSEUNG HAENGJIN are others who can enter the calculations.

Selections (8) P N S Gambol (9) Blue Hammer (10) Old Start (5) Star Rush

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

The Luigi Riccardi stable continues to be in good form and (1) DREAM SPEED came close on her latest start on April 16th when overcoming gate eleven and running on well for 2nd place at long odds. That was her first try at this class and from a much better gate, she should get a much softer run early on and can win here. (5) MIGHTY SUNSHINE is the logical main danger. In four appearances at this class since getting his maiden win, he has been getting closer, culminating in a strong 2nd place at this distance last time out on April 3rd. He does come up 2kg in the weights as a result but he has a strong finish on him and can be competitive. (9) SAENAE WIN comes back in trip following an ordinary spin around 1400M in February. She has the fastest time among any of these at the distance and that alone brings her into contention here. (4) P N S GOLD was outclassed in the Luna Stakes last month but should be better suited here while (10) EUNHYE SERVE is another who could hit the board.

Selections (1) Dream Speed (5) Mighty Sunshine (9) Saenae Win (4) P N S Gold

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Fillies and mares only here and (2) DOUBLE BLACK is favoured to prevail. She beat three of today's rivals at class and distance on April 24th when leading almost the entire way around, only to be denied at the end by favourite Purple K. She has loads of early speed so from a great gate she surely gets to the lead again and this time might not be caught. (1) POWER TOWER came home in 3rd place in that race, having been slowly away and then settling back. She has run good times at this distance and can be a danger again today. (6) CHOEGANG QUEEN comes back in trip after a couple of goes around 1400M. At her latest she missed the top five for the first time but in this company should be on or close to the speed and can be in this a long way. (4) RAON DIA began her career in a hurry and while it's more than a year since her last win, she is rarely too far away and is a place chance again today. (7) LONDON ACTIVE another with minor money claims.

Selections (2) Double Black (1) Power Tower (6) Choegang Queen (4) Raon Dia

Seoul Race 7: Class 3 (1700M) Allowance / KRW 75 Million

After rounding out last year with 4th in the Oaks and 3rd in the Gyeonggi Governor's Cup, the final two legs of the delayed filly Triple Crown, (8) QUEENS TOUR has begun 2022 in style with a class 4 win over 1700M and then a strong score in the Gold Circle Trophy at 1800M. She looks nicely in here and under a fair weight and a fair gate, she can continue on her merry way. (10) CUPID BABE looks to have the best chance to stop her. She doesn't exactly win out of turn but has proven ultra-consistent of late with a 3rd and a 2nd in two starts at this class, both at 1800M. He likes to run on the pace and will be in this a long way. (11) HIDDEN DOLPUNG comes up in class following a good win over 1700M when he tracked the leader throughout before proving too strong. That was his first run since last November and he should strip even fitter here. (2) INCHEON CAPTAIN and (9) NORTHERN TIME are others in the hunt.

Selections (8) Queens Tour (10) Cupid Babe (11) Hidden Dolpung (2) Incheon Captain

Seoul Race 8: Class 3 (1800M) Allowance / KRW 75 Million

(2) CHOEGANG GAME enters having come from well off the pace to run 4th of fourteen in the Listed Sports Chosun Trophy over 2000M on March 20th. He is a winner of four from nine so far and has only finished outside the top0five on one occasion. Already a winner at this distance when carrying even more weight than today, he looks hard to hold out here. (8) JEONGMUN SUMMIT comes up 3kg in the weights on his 2nd place at class and distance on March 26th when he led for much of the way around. Another who has won at this distance, he can pose the favourite some potential problems here. So too (1) CHEONJI YEOGEOL. She comes in off a strong 4th place behind Raon First in the Listed Donga Ilbo Trophy (fillies and mares only) over 1800M on March 27th. She has run consistent times at this distance and from a good gate, should be close. (5) HAEDEULMOE and (3) THUNDER WIND are others who may go close.

Selections (2) Choegang Game (8) Jeongmun Summit (1) Cheonji Yeogeol (5) Haedeulmoe

Seoul Race 9: Class 2 (1800M) Allowance / KRW 90 Million

(12) VIKING STORM was a two-time winner at this distance at class 2 before running a slightly disappointing 6th on his first try at this class on March 26th. He did though beat a couple of today's rivals in the process and while he has drawn an even wider gate today, with a touch of luck at the start to find a good position, his class should see him through. (10) MIGHTY SOO was 7th in that March 26th race, coming from well off the pace. He has plenty of experience at this level and can be a threat today. (4) BAEKSAEK GWANGCHAE comes up in class having won at this distance on April 16th when handy to the lead throughout. He previously ran 6th in the Listed Sports Chosn Trophy over 2000M on March 20th and should measure up in this company. (2) DAE BYEONHWA and (9) RAYMOND are among others to consider.

Selections (12) Viking Storm (10) Mighty Soo (4) Baeksaek Gwangchae (2) Dae Byeonhwa
