A drop in grade sees smart filly Malahide well placed to kick punters off on the right note at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
The Michael Costa-trained three-year-old has been racing in stakes and open company so will find the Winning Edge Presentation Class 3 over 1300m more to her liking.
Malahide was down the track in the Group 3 Sunshine Coast Guineas last start but a wet track and the mile may not have suited her.
A better form reference for this is when she ran on for second in the Listed Daybreak Lover over 1200m at this course three starts back, a high-rating performance that came on the back on an Ipswich win.
Michael Cahill has ridden Malahide in her best results this campaign and goes back aboard on Saturday.
A wide draw shouldn't bother her with her preference to race back in the field and if she runs up to her best ratings she should have too much class for this field.
The scratching of her main rival sees No Money No Honey the standout on ratings in the Des Lambert Memorial Benchmark 75 over 2200m.
The Richard Laming-trained mare found the line well when fifth in the Listed Grafton Cup last outing and will find this an easier assignment.
She was racing in consistent form before that with three placings in Melbourne and Sydney since scoring a win at Warrnambool.
The withdrawal of promising import Attorney in favour of a start in Sydney leaves No Money No Honey as the clear top rater and if she runs up to her recent efforts she should be too good.
