Dazzle Gold To Shine Again

3 minute read

The Steven Burridge trained Dazzle Gold is the definition of flying and appears well placed to bring up the hat-trick at Kranji on Friday night.

Due to contest the fourth event, Dazzle Gold rises 2.5kg at the weights, but gets the services of Michael Rodd and is very hard to knock.

Having shown little for the most part, Dazzle Gold has certainly hit a purple patch of form, breaking through for his second career win two starts back.

Ridden closer to the speed on that occasion, Dazzle Gold proved too good under Simon Kok, beating two subsequent winners and two subsequent minor placegetters.

Stepped up to Class 4 company at his last start, Dazzle Gold didn't have the best of luck early in the straight, before easing off heels and forcing his way into the clear.

Showing a good turn of foot, he burst through the opening and proved too good, saluting by three-quarters of a length.

Never easy for horses to pick up late in the piece like that and the fact he did it over 1700m is another tick, as generally these staying types are all about momentum.

The adjusted time figures were very strong and leave him well placed on Friday night.

From the inside draw he should be able to get into a lovely spot just off the speed and he gives the impression he'll relish the step up to 1800m.

Will need a touch of luck, but trust in Rodd to give him the perfect steer.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he appears well placed and should prove hard to beat.

The Lee Freedman trained Sun Ace hasn't for over 800 days, but is building nicely to a win and has to be respected on the quick back up.

A game effort behind Yulong Medal last start, he rates well and with Collett sticking aboard, he is expected to press forward and be in this for a long way.

The Ricardo Le Grange trained Mighty Emperor drops back sharply in grade and remains under strong notice with the added aid of the claim.

A noted flier on the polytrack (won 8/35), he is likely to get back in the field, but should be very strong late.

Of the rest last start winner Matsuribayashi appears the next in line.

Good luck and happy punting.
