Tiptronic  secured his fifth career win at Ellerslie on Sunday when victorious in the Monstavison 2100.

Trainer Graham Richardson was pleased with the 5-1/4 length winning performance and is now eyeing Group One targets for the son of O'Reilly.

"He's a good horse, he has just had a lot of bad luck," Richardson said. "He has been up in the rating system because of his consistency and he just tries every time.

"I thought with 60 kilos I needed to put a claimer on him, so I put Chelsea Burdan on and she rode him well.

"He won with authority and he deserved it. It was great to see him win, both him and his owners.

"He hasn't had a lot of racing and we have looked after him. He has just needed time and he's as genuine as they come."

The six-year-old will now head to Te Rapa next month in a bid to improve on last year's runner-up result in the Gr.1 Herbie Dyke Stakes (2000m).

"If he could go one better than last year I would be absolutely chuffed," Richardson said.
