The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr-trained three-year-old settled towards the back of the field for jockey Zac Spain. Frondeur  loomed wide on the turn where she was able to gather in her opposition and run away to a length victory.

Kent was pleased with the win and he believes she has a bright future after recording the two career victories to date.

"That was a good win I thought, they didn't go too fast in front, so when she got a little click up the turn of foot was explosive and that is what good horses do," he said.

"In her first jumpout she put on a display, but since putting the barrier blanket on she has been perfect.

"She is a lovely filly, with a good action and temperament. There are definitely bigger things instore."

Spain was also effusive in his praises for the filly who he believes has still got plenty of maturing to do.

"She still does a lot of things wrong," he said. "She floated when she hit the front and I think halfway up the straight there was a little dead patch of grass and she jumped it.

"She is a horse with a lot of ability and she showed that today (Thursday).

"She has got a lot of upside still fitness-wise and learning her craft. She just gives you the feel of a classy filly, so it was good to see her do it again today."

Frondeur was a trial winner in New Zealand for former trainer Brendon Hawtin before he was sourced by bloodstock agent Phill Cataldo.
