FRANCE: Announce Supplemented to Longchamp Group One

3 minute read

Announce, winner of the Prix Jean Romanet, has the chance for a second Group One success after being supplemented for the Prix de l'Opera at Longchamp on Sunday.

The four-year-old filly, trained by Andre Fabre and owned by Khalid Abdullah, defeated Timepiece in the same colours at Deauville in August.

She featured among a field of 14 in the 10-furlong contest at the latest acceptance stage.

Snow Fairy and Shareta have been withdrawn and are on course for the more prestigious Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on the same card.

Also taken out were Saeed bin Suroor's Antara and the David Simcock-trained First City.

Meanwhile unbeaten Irish filly Maybe was a notable withdrawal at the latest acceptance stage for the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp on Sunday.

Aidan O'Brien's unbeaten star was the only absentee from the field for the Group One over a mile.

However, there is an addition to the prospective line-up in the shape of Godolphin's Falls Of Lora.

Sheikh Mohammed's operation have a strong team of two-year-old fillies and Falls Of Lora, trained by Mahmood Al Zarooni, bids to maintain their great run of late.

She was well-beaten by Maybe in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot, but was a convincing winner at Ascot four weeks ago when stepped up to a mile for the first time.
