Singapore racing best bets, race analysis looking at the full Singapore card Sunday, 8th August 2021 with selections & information on all the contenders.

RACE 1 

1st Pick: OPTIMUM STAR (1) Drops back into Class 5 grade and has a great record in this class and especially over the distance. Big player here.
2nd Pick: GAMELY (8) Ultra consistent galloper who is very tough but just struggles to find the finish line first. Last few runs have been encouraging and must respect.
3rd Pick: SUPER SIX (2) One of our veteran horses up here but he doesn't seem to know his age with a nice win in this class last start. At the peak of his ability in this but can surprise.
4th Pick: NORTHERN SUN (3) Ran a solid third last start in this grade when slowly away and improved up the inside. With a clean break can be in the finish again.

RACE 2 

1st Pick: LIM'S DENALI (10) Failed to fire on a yielding track last start but has good gate speed and is the highest rated runner in this field.
2nd Pick: ZESTFUL (9) Speedy runner who went to the front at his last outing. Boxed on solidly and the winner is a handy horse. Can figure here.
3rd Pick: QAIDOOM (12) Facing the starter for the first time today. Has trialled well leading up to this and from a leading stable. Must be respected.
4th Pick: CANDY RAIN (11) This mare is having her first start. Her trials have good form in weeks gone by, and she showed good gate speed.

RACE 3 

1st Pick: HAPPY FRIDAY (12) Has course and distance form figures of – 519 and last time out ran a super race in defeat over 100m further. This is a trappy little race and with a nice light weight, Happy Friday can make it a happy Sunday for his followers.
2nd Pick: EXDREAM (3) Slightly unlucky last time out after receiving a bump early in the race and did run home well. He is in good form and has another decent chance here.
3rd Pick: THE BIG EASY (1) Dropped in grade here and it is worth ignoring the recent form figures. This is a first run in Class 4 grade having last won off a six-point higher mark and it wouldn't shock to see him go well here.
4th Pick: WATER ROCKET (2) Not racing badly and conditions suit here.

RACE 4 

1st Pick: TIGER LEAP (3) Drops back to Maiden level after finishing not far from the winner in Class 5 grade. Looks suited to crack that first win here.
2nd Pick: BEN WADE (4) Hasn't had much luck at his last two starts and still finished off strongly. Not a strong race and can look a threat when turning for home.
3rd Pick: GOOD FIGHT (13) Has been thereabouts in his few career starts. Never far from the finish and just needs some luck to figure in this.
4th Pick: SIMLONG BEACH (12) Looked quite sharp winning a trial during the week. Stable is in form and must be respected.

RACE 5 

1st Pick: STREET PARTY (1) Has been tipped more often than a gardener's wheelbarrow but did run very well when last seen in action over the course and distance, and although he has only won one race in his career, he has the talent to win more if everything falls right for him.
2nd Pick: HIDDEN PROMISE (7) Bolted up last time out under Shafiq Rizuan off a seven-point lower mark. More to do now but is in good order and has another live chance here.
3rd Pick: HIGH LIMIT (9) Produced an eye-catching run for fourth last week over 1100m and was doing all his best work late in the piece. Has form over this track and distance and is worth keeping an eye on the market as the stable have had a couple of well-backed winners of late.
4th Pick: SUN ACE (2) Third start for Desmond Koh now. Formerly with Lee Freedman and has now reached his last winning mark (48) and the conditions suit him perfectly. Place chance.

RACE 6 

1st Pick: DECRETO (2) Has been consistent in his last few starts here. Finds the weaker division of this race and with luck in running, can add another win to his record.
2nd Pick: ATLANTEAN (6) Solid performer in this grade and loves this course and distance. Last time he saluted was very similar conditions he meets here.
3rd Pick: LEGGENDA (7) Broke his maiden in nice style when rolling the short-priced favourite that day. Has trialled in good order for this assignment.
4th Pick: LOVING BABE (4) Capable of getting another win here. Has a good record over the trip and always dangerous in this grade. Stable having a good season.

RACE 7 

1st Pick: RED OCEAN (1) It was a matter of time before the mile comes up. On the way he keeps kicking, he should run it out on his ears.
2nd Pick: CHEVAL BLANC (3) Encouraging first-up run in a sprint race last start. Will relish extra two furlongs. Big run in store.
3rd Pick: ADIPSON (5) Not far off even though he finished out of the placings at his last couple of starts. Drop in distance may suit him. Outside chance.
4th Pick: CHAMPAGNE FINALE (9) Latest form seems to have tapered off a little. Blinkers replaced with visors. Working well and it won't surprise if he stakes a claim in this.

RACE 8 

1st Pick: RED RIDING WOOD (4) Made up a stack of ground last week over slightly further and continues to look handicapped to add to his winning record.
2nd Pick: HERO IN THE WIND (2) Racing off a good mark and should be able to get competitive in this affair.
3rd Pick: LIM'S RHYTHM (5) In better form than some of these and should be suited by conditions here. One to include.
4th Pick: ANGEL HALO (10) Rather unreliable but has slipped to a very low mark now of 26 and that's a full 20 points lower than his last victory. If in the mood, he can run well. A bit taken on trust though.

RACE 9 

1st Pick: TANGIBLE (2) Switches back to winning surface. Honest sort who should be thereabouts again.
2nd Pick: PENNYWISE (1) Drops back to easier company. Reverts to his pet Polytrack surface. Won't surprise if he bounces back here.
3rd Pick: THE MARKSMAN (5) Led at his last outing and was caught late. First mile test. Worth a place bet.
4th Pick: MATSURIBAYASHI (7) Has struck a rich vein of form but this is tougher. Can still pinch a place with a bit of luck.

RACE 10 

1st Pick: SACRED JUDGEMENT (9) Plenty to like about his last outing. Back in form and should give a good account of himself here.
2nd Pick: STREET CRY SUCCESS (1) Ran below par last time out. Worth much better. Live chance.
3rd Pick: AMAZING BREEZE (6) Decent fourth to Red Ocean last time out. That formline should put him in good stead for this.
4th Pick: QIJI ACHEEVA (7) Never won on turf but is not entirely hopeless on it either. Expect him to hit the line solidly in this.

RACE 11 

1st Pick: VULCAN (5) Racing well and has been very competitive off this mark in a couple of starts lately. He looks a rock-solid proposition to go close again.
2nd Pick: MASTER RYKER (1) On face value, he has been a tad disappointing, but it is worth giving him another go in an open race and the handicapper has dropped him a point from the last start.
3rd Pick: SNIP (8) Left on the same mark as his fair second last time out and is well handicapped on the balance of form he has shown throughout 56 race career here on the little Red Dot. A must for the numbers.
4th Pick: MAGNIFIQUE (3) An interesting runner judged on some early form in a better grade. Can prove the value percentage in the contest.
