The James Peters trained Siam Warrior appears well placed to make a winning debut, when due to contest the opening event at Singapore this evening.

Formerly trained by James Cummings, [Old Name: Siam], the son of Exceed And Excel displayed decent ability, winning two of his 11 starts.

Siam Warrior also placed on four occasions and left Aussie shores rated 92 by Timeform.

His narrow defeat behind stablemate Savatiano at Scone was a career highlight and off an official rating of 65 he appears very well placed.

Lining up over 1100m is a good starting point and his two trials in the lead up have been very good.

Finishing third on both occasions, he found the line nicely under his own steam and like the fact he has drawn out as it should keep him out of trouble.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he holds a clear class edge over his rivals and appears poised to make a winning debut.

Never easy with these imports, some acclimatise while others don't.

However, all we can go off is his trials and given how well he performed behind Siam Vipasiri, confident he is in good order and ready to fire.

Jockey Ben Thompson continues his association with the four-year-old and with even luck, he should prove hard to beat.

The Leticia Dragon trained Super Six won well last start and only looks to have to hold that form to be right in the finish again.

A veteran of 69 starts, he appears to be racing as well as ever and from the middle draw, he should get his chance.

The Mark Walker trained Astra went to the paddock in winning form and has to be respected down in the weights.

Only lightly raced (5 starts), he wasn't asked for much in a recent trial and although drawn out, he still has to be kept safe.

Of the rest the improving Sun Spear appears the next in line.

Much like Astra he too is only lightly raced and from the good draw, he shouldn't be far away.
