Time Lord set aside his breathing niggles to record a sterling win in the $70,000 Class 3 Division 2 race over 1400m on Saturday.

Two-time Singapore champion trainer Mark Walker said he had been dithering a little about sending the Guillotine four-year-old for a wind op, but was in the end well inspired to hang fire for a while.

Raced by New Zealander Matthew Goodson, Time Lord , a two-time winner in New Zealand (1400m on a soft track and 1600m) came with a good burst to post his second local win in only six starts at Kranji.

After getting the run of the race scraping paint in fifth while joint leaders Solaris Spectrum (Raquel Clark) and Fame Star (Daniel Moor) went helter-skelter upfront, Time Lord went on to stamp his authority when he was peeled out wide for his run at the 300m.

Upfront, Golden Flame (Matthew Kellady) was being hailed the winner down the middle of the track while Chalaza (Michael Rodd) was also chiming in on the outside, but they were left rooted to the spot when Time Lord came slicing through the pack en route towards an impressive three-quarter length win from Golden Flame with Chalaza third another neck away.

The winning time was 1min 22.38secs for the 1400m on the Short Course.

“He has some breathing issues. He would be a borderline case of a horse who needs a wind op,” said Walker.

“It was a gun ride from Vlad tonight. There was a solid pace upfront and Vlad rode him for luck.

“He was in a good spot and he quickened well. I think he can go over more ground.

“It’s great he has won another race for Matthew Goodson from New Zealand. Hopefully, he doesn’t have to go for any operation.”

Duric was at a riding double after saluting earlier aboard Blue Hawaii for Daniel Meagher in the $30,000 Class 5 Division 2 race over 1000m.

“He drew a good gate. They went along and he could feel the bridle,” said the two-time Singapore champion jockey who keeps stretching his current lead – 15 winners (42 winners against Michael Rodd’s 27).

“The fact the track had a bit of give also played into his favour. He is a quality horse.”

With that second win, Time Lord has now brought up his stakes earnings close to the $75,000 mark for Matthew Goodson.
