Sun Sniper To Strike Second Up

3 minute read

The Lee Freedman trained Sun Sniper did enough in his Singapore debut to suggest he should be very hard to beat in the fourth event on Friday night.

Formerly trained by Gerald Ryan [Old Name: Stealth Sniper], Sun Sniper displayed decent ability in eight starts, placing on four occasions including a maiden win.

Leaving Australian shores rated 85 by Timeform, Sun Sniper was sent out the $2.80 favourite in his Singapore debut and while unable to feature, the signs were promising.

Ridden by Vlad Duric, Sun Sniper settled towards the rear before being produced in the straight to make up some ground late.

Admittedly safely held, however he is sure to be suited by the step up to 1400m this evening.

In what doesn't appear an overly strong Class 4, he is more than capable on best form and is expected to display sharp improvement racing second up.

Leading rider Vlad Duric sticks aboard and while likely to settle back from the wide draw, he should be very strong late.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he appears very well placed and expect the real Sun Sniper to stand up.

Anywhere near his best and he should take a power of beating.

The ever consistent Lord Of Cloud really caught the eye last start and looms as a major threat from the favourable draw.

While winning just 3/25 he has placed on a further eight occasions and is rarely far away.

Generally saves his best for the turf track and with the added aid of the claim, he should be very strong late.

The James Peters' trained Overcoming disappointed last start, but is clearly better than that and is worth another chance with Moor aboard.

Another who has struggled to find the winner's stall (1/12), however his performance two back was very good and if able to run up to that level of form, he is sure to make his presence felt.

Of the rest, last start winner Runminderbinderrun appears the next in line.

An impressive winner in Class 5 company last start, this is obviously a lot harder, but the stable is firing and he cannot be underestimated.

Good luck and happy punting.
