Updates on Stewards' follow-ups to Friday and Sunday meetings

SINGAPORE SEPTEMBER MEETING - FRIDAY 13 SEPTEMBER 2019

RACE 1 [TF1145]

On Tuesday, 17 September 2019, Trainer KY Young advised that RIVER TREASURE (M Ewe) had pulled up well, passing a veterinary examination on Saturday, 14 September 2019, and will continue with the gelding's current preparation.

RACE 2 [TF1146]

On Tuesday, 17 September 2019, Trainer C Brown advised that SAYONARA (M Rodd) had pulled up well, and agreed with the rider's comments that the gelding did not handle the Polytrack surface.

RACE 3 [TF1147]

On Tuesday, 17 September 2019, Trainer J Lim advised that KING'S LANDING (CC Wong) had pulled up well, adding the gelding is still green and that he will consider adding blinkers to the gelding in future.

RACE 4 [TF1148]

On Tuesday, 17 September 2019, Trainer J Saimee advised that REDDOT RISING (V Duric) had pulled up well, passing a veterinary examination on Monday, 16 September 2019, and will continue with the gelding's current preparation.

RACE 7 [TF1151]

On Sunday, 15 September, Trainer HW Tan was questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SPECIAL KING (L Beuzelin) and he stated that he expected the horse to be a top four chance in the race, and that the preparation leading into the race was normal. He added the horse lacked its normal early speed and as a result of the performance would give the horse a few days off to reassess its preparation going forward. A further veterinary examination was carried out on Saturday morning, September 14th, which revealed no obvious abnormalities.

RACE 8 [TF1152]

Trainer M Walker was interviewed on Sunday, 15 September 2019, regarding the apparent improved performance of COUSTEAU (V Duric), and he explained that the gelding had won twice previously with a 61 rating and after racing flat at its last start on July 12, the decision was made to give the gelding a spell and added that he opted not to trial the gelding before resuming which in his view may have been beneficial. His explanation was noted.

RACE 8 [TF1152]

On Tuesday, 17 September 2019, Mr. SH Lee, B Trainer to Trainer D Koh, advised that SUN STEP (CC Wong) had pulled up well, passing a veterinary examination on Saturday, 14 September 2019, and will continue with the gelding's current preparation.

SINGAPORE SEPTEMBER MEETING -SUNDAY 15 SEPTEMBER 2019:

RACE 2 [TF1169]

On Tuesday, 17 September 2019, Trainer S Gray advised that MONTOYA (M Rodd) had pulled up well, and was satisfied with the gelding's first race on the Polytrack surface. He will keep going with the current preparation, and look to place the gelding on the turf surface at its next start.

RACE 3 [TF1170]

On Tuesday, 17 September 2019, Trainer HW Tan advised that BARTIMAEUS (M Rodd) had pulled up well, and after consulting with the rider, will look to step the gelding up in distance and consider adding Winkers to its gear.

RACE 5 [TF1172]

On Tuesday, 17 September 2019, Trainer J Peters advised that STREET PARTY (M Rodd) had pulled up well, adding the gelding was ridden back from the wide barrier and was then not suited by the slow pace. He will endeavour to have the gelding ridden closer next start if it draws a more suitable barrier.

RACE 6 [TF1173]

A veterinary examination on Monday, 16 September 2019 revealed that SUGARTIME JAZZ (JP Van Der Merwe) had returned lame near (left) fore and off (right) hind. It will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and a veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

On Tuesday, 17 September 2019, Trainer J Lim advised that GOLDEN COIN (App WH Kok) had pulled up well, adding he did not believe the gelding appreciated the kickback from an inside barrier draw.

RACE 8 [TF1175]

A veterinary examination on Monday, 16 September 2019 revealed that ANCIENT WARRIOR (MM Firdaus) had returned lame near (left) fore. It will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and a veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.
