It's Got It All gets it right at eighth start

3 minute read

Pacifiers and a quick tempo have been attributed as the reasons for It’s Got It All’s mildly-surprising maiden win at his eighth outing on Friday night.

With a racing pattern leaning more towards frontrunning tactics, having a bunny to keep his sights on in the $50,000 Class 4 Division 1 race over 1000m, coupled with the soothing effect of the new headgear saw the Your Song five-year-old running more relaxed in second position this time.

Jockey John Sundradas was seen sitting quietly in the saddle for most of the way before he popped the question at the top of the lane.

In one fell swoop, It's Got It All  ($90) sailed past the weakening Justice Light (Benny Woodworth) before calling upon his fighting qualities to repel a stinging challenge from Mach (Simon Kok Wei Hoong) by three parts of a length.

Thomas De Lago (Mark Ewe) stormed home late to make up the trifecta, just missing the dead-heat with Mach by a nose. The winning time was 58.9 seconds for the 1000m on Polytrack.

Winning trainer Leticia Dragon and John were on the same page when giving the low-down on a galloper who had been compounding badly when he shows the way, with a third as the best he could hold on to in seven previous runs.

"He ran well tonight. I think the pacifiers did the trick," said Dragon, who has produced consistent results in 2019, having now tallied up a score of 21 winners and clocked up at least one winner every month.

"I was very happy with that run and S John rode a really good race, too. He's riding in great form.

"It's Got It All is one of many horses I've bought in Perth. I like to look for Western Australian horses as I think they're really good value."

After scooping up a treble last Friday (Golden Kid, Braced and Per Inpower), John is certainly making hay while the sun shines, given he begins an enforced holiday through a three-day suspension for careless riding after Sunday's meeting, plus another three-day ban piling up for a similar charge on Star Bullet in Friday's Race 3, meaning he can only resume riding duties after November 1.

"Maybe the pacifiers helped him tonight. There was also a fast pace," said John.

"Normally, we're left in front and he gets too keen, but tonight, we were happy to settle behind another horse.

"He was very relaxed throughout and hit the line strongly."

Having already pocketed $10,822 from his one third placing from his previous seven starts, It's Got It All has now bumped his total earnings up to the $40,000 mark with that maiden win for the Seven Two Stable.
