Singapore racing best bets, race analysis looking at the full Singapore card Friday, 21st February 2020 with selections & information on all the contenders.

RACE 1

1st Pick: SCOOTER (8) An in-form horse at a lowly level, but this isn't a strong race and it may well prove Scooter's opportunity to motor home for a first success.
2nd Pick: CHER (1) Having her first try in this grade for an in-form stable, that of Donna Logan. Still lightly-raced compared to some in this and should go close in what is a weak affair.
3rd Pick: CARNELIAN (3) Stays well and should get very competitive in a race of this standard. A must for the quartet in the opener.
4th Pick: SPUR ME ON (5) Races over different trips but always runs his race. Give him a pass for last time and judged on his best form over 1600m plus, he has every chance in this.

RACE 2

1st Pick: MEGA GOLD (5) Performed well on debut. Will appreciate stepping up in trip and will strip fitter for this assignment second-up. Will take beating.
2nd Pick: NINGALOO (1) Hasn't been far from the mark in tougher contests. Will find this significantly easier and finds conditions to suit. Major player.
3rd Pick: UNSTOPPABLE GIANT (8) On debut. Has trialled satisfactorily leading into this affair, so keep safe. Monitor market/parade.
4th Pick: MILIMILI (10) On debut. Has trialled satisfactorily leading into this affair, so keep safe. Monitor market/parade.

RACE 3

1st Pick: HWASONG (3) Showed good improvement last start and has pleased in a recent trial. Has the ability to progress through the grades, so expect a bold showing with even luck.
2nd Pick: AMORE AMORE (7) Performed well on debut. Will take benefit from that experience and is capable of fighting out the finish with a repeat dose.
3rd Pick: MR FAT KIDDY (2) Has returned in good order with two good runs this time in. Can handle the switch in surface and step-up in journey, so must be respected.
4th Pick: SMOKE AND MIRRORS (8) Has struggled to win but gets his chance in a suitable race. Will find this significantly easier than last start, so must be included.

RACE 4

1st Pick: SHINE ALMIGHTY (7) In what is a very tricky race to work out with not much form to go on and a few newcomers, it might prove wiser to side with this filly. She has had a couple of trials and the daughter of Shamexpress rushed home for third in the latest of them. Tentative pick in a trappy heat.
2nd Pick: CRYSTAL DRAGON (4) Another newcomer that can be fancied to run well on debut. Just the one trial and was third to runaway debut scorer Knight Love in that ORT trial. Looks the type to progress beyond this.
3rd Pick: SILVER SWORD (1) Wasn't too bad in defeat last time and can play a minor role again here.
4th Pick: AWESOME CONQUEROR (2) Ran through beaten horses last time out in a much stronger race and this should prove a little bit easier a task on his fifth career start. Each-way chance.

RACE 5

1st Pick: HEART OF COURAGE (1) Hard to knock on recent efforts. Looks ready to win and finds a very suitable race to get back into the winner's circle. Top pick.
2nd Pick: WHERE SHE'S HAPPY (2) Hasn't been far from the mark in three career outings but will find this assignment significantly easier. Will be forward enough to fight out the finish after two trials.
3rd Pick: TRIGAMY (5) Had no luck last start. On the quick back-up here which is a big push from this stable. Must be considered on best efforts.
4th Pick: UNCLE LUCKY (6) On-pace runner who is worth thought under the right circumstances. Capable of giving a sight with the lightweight.

RACE 6

1st Pick: DAZZLE GOLD (1) Performed above expectation last start on an unfavourable surface. Better suited switching back to the Polytrack surface here, so expect a bold showing.
2nd Pick: BUSHIDO (4) Has been knocking on the door in recent outings. Isn't ideally drawn but has the ability to overcome and fight out the finish.
3rd Pick: ACROSS THE SEA (5) Returns to the races fresh after a spell. Hard to get a guide on how forward he is but this stable can pull this off. Keep safe.
4th Pick: ABSOLUTE MIRACLE (7) Has been struggling to win but is down to a very suitable rating. Monitor parade and betting.

RACE 7

1st Pick: BLUESTONE (12) A very smart 3yo for Cliff Brown and was very good when winning last time out with a good turn of foot to score. Now up in grade, but that shouldn't pose any problem to him and the extra distance can also be a plus. He is classy and could take a bit of pegging back in the last furlong.
2nd Pick: WECANDO (5) Has good course and distance form to his name and ran a huge race in defeat last time out when dead-heating with Mr Hooper for second. The leading jockey is booked and he should go close under ideal conditions.
3rd Pick: PAX ANIMI (13) Needs to get a run and if doing so, is a decent chance. Has only had limited runs here so far and has looked very good. He is considered a Derby prospect and stepping up in distance now is perfect for him. If a run comes his way, he is a live chance.
4th Pick: FEDERATION (2) Progressive type who gets on well with John Powell. A good run off this mark last time out would put him spot-on for this test and the step-up in trip is interesting. One for the multiples.

RACE 8

1st Pick: LUCKY RED (7) Not an inspiring race to finish with but Lucky Red might be good enough to finally break the maiden tag at start 20 on the back of a career best last time out.
2nd Pick: BRING ME JOY (8) Solid run in third when last seen under Ryan Munger. Alysha Collett now takes over and with a light weight, he can run another sound race.
3rd Pick: TAVITO (4) Has slightly better form credentials than some in this race and must be included in the mix. Place prospect.
4th Pick: GOLDEN SPARK (6) Was okay under Dennis Tan Zhi Xian two runs back and he is back on board here. He can make up the numbers and be best of the rest.
