Singapore racing best bets, race analysis looking at the full Singapore card Saturday, 7th March 2020 with selections & information on all the contenders.
RACE 1
1st Pick : STARDICE (2) - Been given time between runs after good last-start effort. Can track forward and sit behind the pace here, hard to hold out.
2nd Pick: CHARMING DIAMOND (1) - Blinkers added and 4kg claim. He had a "think" about things last start but has the ability if mind on the job.
3rd Pick: SUN ELIZABETH (4) - In career-best form and flying, no knock.
4th Pick: MY MONEY (13) - Struggles to win but can place.
RACE 2
1st Pick : SHEPHERD'S HYMN (9) - Put in a fantastic run last start over an unsuitable journey. Finds conditions to suit here and will take beating with a repeat dose.
2nd Pick: MIGHTY VAIN (1) - Still has a lot to learn but has been running well. Will take up a forward role and is capable of giving a sight.
3rd Pick: SMOKE AND MIRRORS (2) - Showed some improvement last start. Ruan Maia retains the ride which is a positive, but will need the right breaks from a tricky alley.
4th Pick: SILKARDO (3) - Lightly-raced and is open to some improvement. Worth including for the minor end, so don't dismiss.
RACE 3
1st Pick : HURRIAN (2) - Won impressively on debut. On the quick back-up here switching to the turf which will prove no problem. Will take beating yet again.
2nd Pick: FIELD MARSHAL (4) - Handy horse who has developed a respectable record in a short career. Better suited here and is worth forgiving last start. Major player.
3rd Pick: AFALONHRO (3) - Hasn't been far from the mark in recent attempts. Needs the right breaks from a poor gate but don't dismiss.
4th Pick: IRONCLAD (5) - Hard to knock on recent efforts. Isn't ideally drawn from the inside gate but is worth thought if the race is run to suit.
RACE 4
1st Pick : EL PRIMERO (4) - Worth forgiving last start. Better suited rising in journey and will strip fitter second-up. Top pick in an open race.
2nd Pick: TUSCAN ARTIST (5) - Has been knocking on the door for some time now. Gets his chance to lead with no pressure. Major player.
3rd Pick: PRINCE PEGASUS (2) - Finds a suitable race and gets the nod from Vlad Duric. Capable of contending on best efforts but take on trust.
4th Pick: SUMMER GLITTER (8) - Has mixed form in recent times. Worth including for the minor end with the right breaks.
RACE 5
1st Pick : THUNDER (4) - Looked the winner for a long way last start. The form is strong out of that contest and with a repeat dose, will take beating.
2nd Pick: IRON RULER (6) - Lightly-raced and has the upside to continue to improve. Should have no problem stepping up marginally in journey, so expect a bold showing.
3rd Pick: MAGNIFICENT GOLD (3) - Has been a model of consistency without winning. Ready to fire third-up so must be respected as a winning chance.
4th Pick: PISCA (8) - Did a lot wrong last start but if she can curb her racing manners, she isn't out of this. Keep safe for the minor end.
RACE 6
1st Pick : LUCK OF MASTER (3) - Hard to knock on recent efforts. Will get back and will rely on a genuine pace but can rattle off serious closing sectionals. Commands respect.
2nd Pick: AUGUSTUS (2) - Has been running honest races of late. Will appreciate the booking of the leading rider, and is drawn to get the right run. Major player.
3rd Pick: WIND TRAIL (4) - Returned in good order fresh behind a smart horse in On Line. Will strip fitter for this assignment and is capable of fighting out the finish with the race run to suit.
4th Pick: DICTON (1) - Has been finding it hard to win but brings a class edge to this affair. Worth thought on best credentials.
RACE 7
1st Pick : COUNTOFMONTECRISTO (1) - Class act and a good winner of the Group 2 Chairman's Trophy when last seen. He has a big weight here but has the assistance of a useful apprentice and with most of the field behind him last time out, he an once again prove too good.
2nd Pick: SUN MARSHAL (3) - Singapore Derby winner who ran a great race in defeat last time behind Countofmontecristo and if in the same vein of form, he can give him most to think about.
3rd Pick: GOLD STRIKE (5) - Third in the Chairman's Trophy and would look nicely suited to these conditions and the booking of leading jockey Vlad Duric has to be a plus also. A long-range Gold Cup hope again, he can go really well in this.
4th Pick: KING LOUIS (4) - First run out of Group company since last April, he was a bit below-par in the Chairman's Trophy, but he is better than that and can return to form with a solid performance here. A must for the top four.
RACE 8
1st Pick : AXEL (2) - Horror show last start when never in clear galloping room. Can race handier from good draw and is ready to win.
2nd Pick: GALAXY STAR (4) - Good effort last start in what looks okay form race. Must include with Vlad Duric on.
3rd Pick: OCEAN CROSSING (1) - Fitter here second-up and will make own luck on pace.
4th Pick: SACRED JUDGEMENT (3) - Luckless last time when racing behind leaders in run, never got out. Can go forward from the wide draw if desired but will need luck to get in.
RACE 9
1st Pick : ARC TRIUMPH (5) - Booming win in Class 4 with big weight and wide run last start, and sectionals were some of the best of the night. Can measure up here.
2nd Pick: RED ROVER (2) - Capable sprinting type. If he gets the right run, he can win here.
3rd Pick: BIRAZ (1) - Back in grade and meets lesser quality of opposition here. Expect big improvement.
4th Pick: SACRED SHAM (3) - Resuming, trials are good. Capable of sprinting well fresh.
RACE 10
1st Pick : WATER ROCKET (4) - Back in distance and switches to Polytrack surface (won on two starts back). Can lead or trail the leaders here and will be in the finish.
2nd Pick: WONDERFUL KNIGHT (1) - High-speed type that will give a bold showing on speed with the claim.
3rd Pick: ELITE SILVERGHOST (5) - Went well first-up. Has had issues at the gates but jumped better last time and looks a work in progress that is getting better all the time.
4th Pick: KHAN (7) - Interesting runner at Singapore debut, watch betting.
