Mr Showman To Bounce Back

3 minute read

The Shane Baertschiger trained Mr Showman failed to fire a shot in his Singapore debut, but is expected to bounce back in a big way on Saturday.

Due to contest the fifth event at Kranji, Mr Showman steps out onto the polytrack for the first time, after he reportedly didn't handle the rain affected track in his Singapore debut.

Formerly trained by Glen Harvey in New Zealand [Old Name: Showaan], Mr Showman placed in both career starts, before being sold to Singapore.

Narrowly beaten on both occasions, he displayed good ability and left New Zealand shores rated 75 by Timeform.

He ran nowhere near that mark first up, but had clear excuses and it looks a big plus getting onto the all-weather.

Prior to his debut, he won two trials in impressive fashion, leading throughout to score by 7L and 3.3L.

Since kept fresh (27 days), Kellady sticks aboard and expect him to lead from the wide draw.

In what looks a fairly weak race on paper, he is very well placed at the weights and happy to forgive a decent horse one bad run.

Anywhere near his peak and he should take a power of beating.

The Dan Meagher trained Easy South East has mixed his form, but is capable on his day and has to be respected on the quick back up.

From 12 starts, he has placed on six occasions and rates well on his effort two back when only narrowly beaten.

Should look to press forward from the wide draw and be in this for a long way.

The Ong trained Loving Babe has only been fair in both starts this time in, but is better than that and can improve third up.

His form last time in was solid enough and this is more his level of opposition.

Of the rest the Michael Clements trained Almalek appears the next in line.

Good luck and happy punting.
