Singapore racing best bets, race analysis looking at the full Singapore card Sunday, 04th April 2021 with selections & information on all the contenders.
RACE 1
1st Pick: CAVALLA COURT (1) - Been knocking on the door of late and it's about time it opened for Stephen Gray's five-year-old.
2nd Pick: SUN CONQUEROR (6) - Hacked up last start and even though he is drawn wide, he can go close again here.
3rd Pick: AMAZING CHOICE (2) - A winner last week over 1200m. Backs up quickly and is in good order.
4th Pick: HIDDEN PROMISE (10) - Could be the value play here.
RACE 2
1st Pick: GOLDEN SPRINT (2) - Stable have hit form with a double last week and this nice maiden has some good form under his belt. One to be with here.
2nd Pick: ACE SOVEREIGN (5) - Will have come on for the defeat at the hands of Real Efecto and can play a leading role here.
3rd Pick: AL MEQDAM (1) - Can improve on sole Kranji outing so far. Each-way hope.
4th Pick: TAVI WILL DO (12) - Copperbelt can ready a newcomer and this fellow has trialled well ahead of debut. Keep safe.
RACE 3
1st Pick: ABLEST ASCEND (3) - Progressive sort who had to battle a little to get the job done last start, but the win was still full of merit. Picks up 3.5kgs but that should not slow him down.
2nd Pick: COUSTEAU (4) - Been a while since last salute but last-start second brought new hopes. Warrants consideration.
3rd Pick: TRIPLE BOWL (12) - Two runs back, ran a close-up third to Kharisma, who is contesting a Kranji Stakes A race later. No weight on his back. Include in combination bets.
4th Pick: PROOF PERFECT (2) - One win and the following runs have been average, albeit not beaten far off. Outsider.
RACE 4
1st Pick: PHAXE (4) - The tentative selection will be this Class 5 placegetter last time out.
2nd Pick: EASYLIGHTS (2) - Has changed stables and trialled really nicely for a strong win recently. Interesting.
3rd Pick: SHOWBOUND (1) -Has bits and pieces of form to be considered a place chance here with champion jockey Vlad Duric booked.
4th Pick: MARCUS ANTONIUS (9) - Back in distance after a good run over the mile last time out. One to consider.
RACE 5
1st Pick: SESON (7) - Trialled well for this and the booking of four-time champion jockey Vlad Duric is a massive tip in itself.
2nd Pick: CHARMING DIAMOND (1) - Disappointing of late but is on his last winning mark and wouldn't shock if he returned to form.
3rd Pick: SUN ELIZABETH (10) - Better last time but is once again drawn wide. Place hope.
4th Pick: BARBEQUE (2) - One to fill the frame at odds.
RACE 6
1st Pick: LIM'S DREAMWALKER (2) - Hasn't looked the most straightforward at times, but has the ability and connections have found a lovely race to finally break the maiden tag. The one to beat if all goes to plan.
2nd Pick: WAWASAN (5) - The return to 1000m is a plus and should be bang in there when the whips are cracking.
3rd Pick: BIG BAD MAMA (4) - Has had a break and should put herself right there from the outset on the back of a good effort last December.
4th Pick: DON'T TELL TILLY (3) - One to include on her best form.
RACE 7
1st Pick: IMPLEMENT (1) - Will find this easier and the distance more up his alley. Won't surprise if he lands a blow with a late charge. Drawn wide but he drops back, anyway.
2nd Pick: SHEPHERD'S HYMN (3) - Freshened up since disappointing last start. Might have been backed up too quickly. Back on his game in trackwork. Stick with him.
3rd Pick: GOLD REWARD (7) - First run for Ricardo Le Grange. Backmarker who makes his presence felt late. May find this a touch short but is still a place chance.
4th Pick: LIM'S UNIQUE (8) - Ran above expectations in stronger race last start. May try and lead again. Will be in this for a long way.
RACE 8
1st Pick: FOUNTAIN OF FAME (7) - Went close last time out over this course and distance and can go one better here in a very weak affair.
2nd Pick: FORT MUSTANG (2) - Forgive that run last time, was found to be distressed post-race. Prior to that last run, he was in good form.
3rd Pick: BALOR (4) - Fair run when last seen and has a better barrier this time around.
4th Pick: BLITZ POWER (1) - She will be finishing off late and is off an attractive mark nowadays.
RACE 9
1st Pick: TOP KNIGHT (1) - Top miler making his comeback to racing. Looked in sparkling form on the training tracks and in his barrier trial. Can go well fresh and can even score first-up even if trip is too sharp.
2nd Pick: ZAC KASA (4) - Was hailed as the winner at his first-up race but was swamped late. Fitter for the run and must be respected in such a race. Crossover noseband on. Big say.
3rd Pick: SKYWALK (2) - Getting on but is honest as the day is long. Has superior form on Polytrack, but if on song, he can still be hard to hold out.
4th Pick: AUGUSTANO (7) - Form has dropped off a little, but from barrier No 2, he won't be caught out wide this time. Faces stiff opposition but if he gets away with some cheap sectionals upfront, he may hang on for a place.
RACE 10
1st Pick: SURE WILL DO (2) - Promising sort who scored at first Polytrack test last time out. Wide alley does raise a query. Still ticks the most boxes.
2nd Pick: SACRED GIFT (1) - Had the race all stitched up but Paletas came from nowhere to nab him on the line. Can finish in the money again.
3rd Pick: ALWAYS INNOCENT (9) - Found the line in softer company last start. Back in Class 4 but he seems to have maintained his form. Not without place claims.
4th Pick: LIM'S ZOOM (3) - Chequered form but on best form, he should not be left out of this. Blinkers off. Lovely gate.
RACE 11
1st Pick: HEARTENING FLYER (4) - Likely short-priced favourite. Would have tested winner Kharisma had he drawn better at his last outing. Jumps from a better barrier this time. Hard to beat.
2nd Pick: SAVVY COMMAND (10) - Lost no marks at his last run. Fought on and only gave up inside last furlong. Didn't show much at only 1400m test. Crossover noseband on. Deserves another shot.
3rd Pick: QUADCOPTER (2) - Didn't fire a shot at last couple of starts. Can do much better. Keep safe.
4th Pick: GOLD STAR (5) - Three of four wins were recorded on course and distance. Looks safely held by selection but he can fight for the minors.
RACE 12
1st Pick: VULCAN (4) - Not exactly a model of consistency but he will probably get the run of the race from barrier No 2. With a bit of luck, he can bounce back to form here.
2nd Pick: ENTERTAINER (6) - Bidding for a three-in-a-row but might be vulnerable from the wide alley. Place claims look better.
3rd Pick: QARAAT (1) - Showed vast improvement at his last start. Could be this a sign of a return to his old form? Will have to prove that creditable fourth to Prosperous Return was no fluke.
4th Pick: WIN (12) - Not without ability. Has drawn off the track, but he can come from off the pace. Bears watching.
