Singapore racing best bets, race analysis looking at the full Singapore card Sunday, 8th May with selections & information on all the contenders.
RACE 1
NORTHERN SUN – He has finished in the top three at his last three starts and class 5 is his peak where can perform. Not a speed runner so will need plenty of pace on early to run on.
THE WILD PRINCE – Looking to make it three wins in a row after a taking out two races within seven days. Doesn't rise in weight after that win and looks to be in a good patch of form.
ZYGARDE – Very nice run last start after being caught wide for the race and boxed on solidly to run second beaten just under 2 lengths. Good course and distance record and looks a danger.
CIRCUIT STAR – Had a horror run last start after copping a bump and racing extremely wide for the entire race. Looking for a much-improved run this time around.
RACE 2
BIG GREEN HAT – One of the more consistent maidens in this field. Went down as a short favourite last start and races at this distance for the first time. Looks the one on paper with Nunes taking the steering duties.
GLOBAL SPIRIT – Had a nice trial last week in preparation for this run. Comes from our leading stable and gets his chance to crack that first career win in this field.
FABU – Gets back to Maiden grade after competing in Class 5 last start. Was only beaten three lengths that day and has good form figures to feature in a race like this.
FIGHTING HERO – Meets a fairly weak Maiden and has been met with betting support in a couple of his starts. Should be handy in the run and give some sight in the finish.
RACE 3
LIM'S KNIGHT – Faces the starter after two minor placings at his last two starts. Caught the eye hitting the line last start and finds himself in the easier division of this race. A win is close.
DANCING LIGHT – Lightly raced three-year-old from our leading stable. Won his maiden in nice style and followed up with a solid third in Novice grade. Has since trialed well and will be a leading player.
UNCONQUERED – Highest rated galloper in this field and has some handy form in previous runs to show he can run a bold race against this field.
GRAVITON – Not a bad run last start when finishing fifth behind a handy galloper. Gets in light on the weights for Seow and could be a surprise exotics finish.
RACE 4
BUDDY BUDDY – His debut class 5 run last start was very good and rises up in distance. Getting to that point in his career where he won't find a much easier race than this.
LARRY – Three of his five victories have been recorded over this course and distance and carries the lightest weight he has for a while. Gets back and will be flying home late.
LAKSANA – Two eye catching placings at his last two starts and steps up to the 2000m where his only career win came at back in November. Big player in this.
CENTURION – Cracked a win last start over the 1800m and was hitting the line better than any other runner. With a handy run during the race can win again.
RACE 5
THOMAS DE LAGO – Last start winner over this distance under Nunes. Jumped at the lead the entire race and looks to be on track to make it two in a row.
OLYMPIA – Had to carry the 59kgs last start as a short favourite. Turned the corner and looked the winner but was left on tired feet. Gets the 3kg claim and that will be a big advantage.
HIGH LIMIT – Beaten a neck last start behind I'm A Conqueror in a tight three-way photo. Should be handy in the run and give a good sight turning for home.
LIM'S UNIQUE – A former three-time winner over a slightly longer distance. Last start they rode him more positive and for a field of this depth he could be a surprise exotics filler.
RACE 6
HOTSHOTS SLAM – Last start winner over this course and distance. Has since trialed well for a lead up into this race and with a handy run-in transit can make it back-to-back here.
ROMANTIC – Consistent galloper who has had a good preparation for the stable. Has won once over the 1000m before and was only beaten just under two lengths last start.
KISS YOUR SONG – Comes into this three rating points lower than his last career win. Only a one-time winner at the distance but plenty of minor placings. Watch any betting support.
LIM'S STRAIGHT – Racing first up since November of last year. Has had plenty of trials coming into this and should hold some fitness. Strong stable and jockey combination.
RACE 7
HELUSHKA – Gets back to the course and distance combination where his best career stats have come including three wins and three placings. If he gets to the front easily could be hard to catch.
HOSAYLIAO – His best career runs have come in similar conditions to this race. With a smooth run after the first turn he can score another victory in this.
SAYONARA – Last start was back in March where he finished fourth over a longer distance. Two nice trials have been recorded in a lead up to this and at his best can figure in the finish.
HIGH VOLTAGE – His last win came over a sprint trip after jumping and leading from barrier to finish. Has only one start at this distance and could be a watch for any betting support.
RACE 8
SNIP – Makes his return to class 5 after scoring a win in this grade back in January of this year. Between now and then has been recording good runs in class 4. Looks the main danger.
SUN STEP – Last start used the inside barrier to his advantage and likes to race up on the speed. Just beaten on the line by Lim's Zoom and meets similar conditions here.
WAWASAN – Two minor placings over this distance behind some good winners who have recorded good runs since then. This is his pet distance and looks a leading contender.
SUPER POSH – Hasn't had much luck in the barrier department at his last few starts and continues that bad luck here. Has been hitting the line well. With some luck in running, he can be included in the multiples.
RACE 9
HERO – Was a strong win last start over the mile and had to overcome interference in the straight and still won with plenty in hand. Could be a derby contender for this year.
GREAT EXPECTATION – Nice form figures for a race like this. Continues to run strong races and hits the line each time. On 54kgs should be there at the business end of the race.
WIND TRAIL – In three starts over this course and distance has never finished outside of the top three. The stable is well known for their stayers and can figure in the multiples.
ACE SOVEREIGN – Finally cracked his maiden at his last run. That was on the Polytrack but does have reasonable form on the turf. Now he knows how to win could be a roughie for exotics.
RACE 10
GAMELY – Mixing his form lately but this is his favorite course and distance that have his two victories next to it. Plenty of minor placings among those and this isn't a tough race.
SUPERMAX – Last start was his best recorded finish for some time. He was slow to begin and hit the line strongly behind Superior Coat who was far too good on the day.
SUPER TALENT – Only a two-time winner from forty-three starts but meets a lowly rated division of this race. Came from well back in the field last start and was one of the fastest sectional raters.
WEDNESDAY – Still a maiden coming into this race. Has recorded six placings in twenty career runs and hasn't been too far away from the winners on many occasions. Gets his chance here.
RACE 11
KING ARTHUR – Drops back to the 1000m journey this week after a solid third last start. Beaten under length on that occasion and looks a big player here.
HAPPY MOMENT – Racing very consistently this preparation and continues to be amongst the placings. Has good form against his rivals in this race.
ARARAT LADY – Hasn't returned to the winner's stall in a little while like many expected she would. She continues to run on in her races and a win isn't too far away.
SUN OPS – First up today and has caught the eye in his last two trials with Nunes in the saddle. Has a good record in his four starts here and watch any betting moves.
RACE 12
NO MORE DELAY – He looks to be a horse with a fair bit of ability after two impressive career victories to date. Returned with a strong first up win and the step up to class 4 shouldn't be a problem.
SACRED JUDGEMENT – Comes into this off two nice minor placings. Has strong course and distant stats for a stable that is going well in the last few months. Big player.
STENMARK – Refused to jump last start and took no part. He has been busy at the trials since then and is a horse with plenty of ability and with his best form can surprise here.
FROM THE NAVY – Nice win last week and is on the quick backup. Meets a stronger field this week but winning form is good form and can figure again.
