Race 3

#6 Gold 'N' Bold was green but an extremely nice type who closed strongly between runners at his first start. He's drawn more favourably nearer the outside rail today and this shall assist him greatly, as he was all at sea on debut from the low draw. One of a number of good types in the race but should go close.
#9 Next Model conversely has drawn awkward in comparison to his debut but can offset the gate with his natural speed. He got very warm behind the stalls and even though he bubbled over pre-race, a very encouraging run followed. After showing nothing first preparation he's now returned and displayed strong ability for his connections. There's plenty to like about him going forward and he's another who can be right in the finish.
#1 Fabulous Eight has the benefit of a preparation last season under his belt where he looked a progressive type. Spelled for a year due to fetlock issues he's since matured greatly and has come back in fine fettle. The gate today is the only negative on paper but it's not impossible for him to overcome.
#4 Super Kin was impressive on debut back in 2019 but unfortunately has suffered multiple soundness set backs. Owners have been prepared to give him the time he's needed to recover and although he might be underdone, I'd be hesitant to leave him out of exotics.
#5 Dr Eq went like a rocket through the first 600m on debut but tired shortly thereafter. He's going to be better suited here with a 7lb claim and the improved fitness profile.

Race 6

#2 Party Genius hasn't received a decent barrier since he began racing back in February. With an opportunity today to position behind the speed and without using excessive energy to get there, he is clearly the one to beat. Douglas Whyte's had an incredible debut season as a trainer in Honk Kong. With confidence now from a large number of Hong Kong owners secured the Whyte stable is overflowing with potential class three and above gallopers, and this guy is one of them.
#6 So We Joy is another emerging talent but he's drawn a touch awkward today. Vincent Ho jumps back aboard and he's likely to eye of the position trailing #2 Party Genius. If he gets a smooth transition from the draw then the race is his to take, provided he's strong enough over the final 100m.
#7 Momentum Happy debuted for the Jimmy Ting stable when belting along from the outset last start to win. Going in a winner without penalty today and the blinkers remaining on for the second time, it's likely you'll again receive a great run for your money, but they'll be no 14/1 market price on offer today.
#9 Circuit Number One has been hot and cold since day one, but interestingly Tony Cruz has booked his number one man Karis Teetan to take the reigns.
#12 Super Red Dragon is a better proposition in class 5 and on the All Weather Track. However, he's super fit and I wouldn't be surprised if he got amongst the numbers at a price.

The days feature the Group 3 "Lion Rock Trophy" is raced under handicap conditions over the 1600m. This years edition is super competitive and to be honest a real head scratcher to sort out.

#7 Dances With Dragon has been in exceptional form recently winning three of his past four at Happy Valley. He's now racing of a career high rating of 97 but it's worth remembering he was a Group 1 winner in New Zealand, prior to his importation. Zac Purton can't make the weight of 113lb and as a result the price shall inflate and turn a few people off. He's no certainty but should represent a great each way bet again, he's never raced better.
#8 Beauty Legacy won brilliantly first up in Hong Kong and following that victory was sent on a derby trail. He's struggled since to measure up but gives the impression he's a high quality galloper for next season all being equal. With 113lb plus on his back he is likely to give his supporters something loud to cheer about.
#11 General's Delight has been touted by some prudent form students as a Group 1 horse in the making. He's still young lightly raced and relatively inexperienced to Hong Kong lifestyle, so you'd expect him to keep improving. We shall learn plenty more about him today and what he might be capable of next season.
#2 Ka Ying Star is likely to find the lead again and without to much pressure applied. The handicap conditions again force him to shoulder the big weight, but In his defence he's been a model of consistency at the highest level and shouldn't be underestimated.
#1 Southern Legend has been a tremendous horse for connections and was rewarded with another Group 1 victory last start in the Champions Mile. He's giving away all the weight here to some smart youngsters and that won't be easy, but he's all class.
