Race 1

#10 Virtus Star took twenty two starts to break his maiden but it's uncanny how often these low grade gallopers go back to back once gaining the confidence of a win. In fairness his form this season has been sound and with a similar gate, weight and the same jockey on top, it's unfair to be critical. He's likely to obtain the perfect run today affording him every chance to go through with it once again.
#4 Wonderful Tiger is generally a lay when he draws wide, however his overall form in similar events is quite reliable when he drawn well. Chad Schofield has a great understanding of his capabilities as well as his mindful state to remain focused. Adding all that together suggests there is plenty in his favour today and I'd expect a strong performance.
#1 Humble Steed rejoins the class 5 club for the first time since his last victory, which occurred at shatin back in May. Despite today's awkward draw and heavy weight, his first up run strongly suggested he's ready to fire. Karis Teetan reunites and the pair together have a formidable record.
#8 Wonder Win arrives to the race track fit and ready to attack the happy valley mile. There's not much to brag about regarding his overall record but there was plenty to like about his first up run at shatin. Two of three runs this campaign have been very competitive which makes him an interesting edition to the race at a price. But he'll need to be on his best behaviour.
#9 Treasure Chest has worked particularly hard through the initial stages of all four runs this campaign. With a good barrier alongside his name for the first time this season he's the on pace runner that should stick on well. It's not beyond him to go all the way if the rail and track conditions are favouring his needs.

Race 5

#7 King Dragon has taken plenty of time to strengthen both physically and mentally but the signs are now emerging, he's just about there. He's a flashy looking son of Savabeel who's all ready been a costly favourite on numerous occasions, throughout his short career. Both runs this preparation have offered excuses and the effort is definitely there. Again he'll be favoured in the market and is definitely worth strong consideration.
#3 All You Know has returned this season in excellent condition and results have followed accordingly. Throughout his career the endeavour has never been questioned, however his overall ability does expose limitations. Despite those queries he's in good form and should be certainly thereabouts.
#2 Villa Fionn on the other hand has been rather untrustworthy when it comes to delivering  consistent results. There's been plenty of set backs along the way but overall he's been a frustrating underachiever, winning just the two races. His recent form however does suggests he's returning to his best and a similar effort would have him put these away. Very Capable.
#8 Universal Go Go is competitively rated and has always been a racer that gives his heart and soul. He's right at the top of his game regarding fitness and despite the poor draw must be respected. Its very possible the draw actually assists his cause as there seems little opposition for speed, creating an opportunity to lead.
#9 Daily Beauty has time and progress on his side but on face value was disappointing last start. He missed the jump slightly and then hit the rail mid race which took its toll in the end. A change of rider combined with a prime barrier should bring about a better performance but you'd want and each way price.

Selections : 7,3,2,8,9

R6 - 2,8,4,1,9

R7 - 4,9,8,3,7

R8 - 8,1,3,4,7

R9 - 4,8,9,2,1

Race 10

#7 Golden Dash is a talented galloper who's never realised his full potential. Since he bled in December 2018 he's been sparingly raced, recording only five runs in total last season. With a solid foundation of residual fitness and two competitive runs now under the belt, Im expecting a bold showing. He's yet to win in class 2 but thats a huge chance of ending here today.
#5 Highland Fortune came good at the end of last season winning two on the trot in class 3. From day one he's always looked to possess well above average ability and that was finally realised with two strong wins, in fast time, towards the end of last season. Returning second up today and stepping back to 1200m looks ideal and I expect him to be the testing material over the final 200m.
#8 Green Aeon wasn't suited by the change in track and tactics last outing when he burned along on the speed. Previous to that he was most impressive wining a class 3 over the 1000m here at the valley. He's still fully establishing himself to Hong Kong racing but it's very evident he's a decent talent.
#4 Good Luck Friend hasn't missed a cheque to this point so connections would be very happy. They'll be even happier if he wins again today as he's up for a 2.2 million dollar prize money check in total, should he win. There are three in the race chasing that 1 million HKD bonus and he'll get his chance from the draw. However, it's the change in venue and change in jockey that create the biggest concerns for me.
#3 Gunnison is often overlooked in races similar to this and again that could be the case. He doesn't win out of turn so it's difficult to recommend him on a win line, however he ran a blinder first up and I wouldn't be surprise if he found himself in the frame.
