The royal colours will be seen on the racecourse in Australia again this year following the arrival of the Queen's Bold Sniper at Gai Waterhouse's Syndey stable on Monday.

While there are no specific targets for the homebred son of New Approach yet, he is certain to attract plenty of interest as only the second horse to be trained in Australia for the monarch.

Last year Waterhouse saddled Carlton House to finish a short-head second in the Ranvet Stakes and third in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes - both Group 1 - before the 2011 Derby third was retired to stud in August.

Although not expected to be competing at that grade, Bold Sniper won three races for Sir Michael Stoute and was placed in four of his five starts last season. That included finishing runner-up in the Wolferton Handicap at Royal Ascot in which the Waterhouse-trained Cafe Society was third.

The Queen's racing manager John Warren, who is in Australia to attend the Magic Millions Yearling Sales that start in Queensland on Wednesday, told the Racing Post on Monday: "He will be the second horse to be trained for the Queen by Gai Waterhouse and he arrived today.

"He has settled in well and hopefully will give the Queen some fun and do well here at his level.
