Housekeeping off the top. @Mintbet chimed in on Twitter with the best name for our priceline - The Mail Model - and so it will be called as we try and crunch out a few winners across the UK flat season which really gets into swing with the Craven Meeting from Newmarket this week.

The Nell Gwyn Stakes might be the feature race on the first day but it looks a trappy affair with the Mail Model and the early market both making it a wide open contest. The Mail Model spits out Main Edition as a bit more likely than the current betting but it looks plenty volatile and it's probably best to use the race as a source of information for bets further down the line. One of the advantages the punter has over the bookmaker is that we can let races sail on through to the keeper - so let's do just that and turn our attention, or more importantly the attention of the Mail Model, to the Free Handicap which takes on a bit more of an appealing shape.

Assessed Prices: Shine So Bright $3.50; Azano $3.50; Arctic Sound $6.50; Dubai Dominion $11.00.

Equal favourites according to the Mail Model while the early betting is tilting that head to head towards Azano.

Azano ran second to Saturday's impressive Greenham winner Mohaather, and was very fast winning at Yarmouth prior to that, but that form rates no better than what Shine So Bright  produced in the Gimcrack at York and, while Gosden/Dettori is certainly a positive variable for Azano, Shine So Bright loses nothing coming here for Andrew Balding who fired out a quartet of winners in the past week - all running run sharp figures.

Three of those winners have run remarkably good time ratings - Happy Power , Bye Bye Hong Kong  and Raise You - and you could do worse than pop all thee of those into the blackbook for future reference.

Bigger than 3-1 looks a reasonable bet for Shine So Bright to keep the yard's hot run going.

The third pick, Arctic Sound, knocked off Bye Bye Hong Kong at the course and distance at the end of last season, so that form is looking solid, but his price looks about right now as does the price about Dubai Dominion.
