Brisbane Cup winner Sixties Groove is enjoying a few easy weeks in the Queensland sunshine before being put back into work.
Trainer Kris Lees has already mapped out spring goals for Sixties Groove.
"His immediate mission will be the Metropolitan over 2400m at Randwick on October 5," Lees said.
"We'll also look at the Newcastle Cup on September 20 but it might not fit into his program."
High Opinion, a heavily-backed favourite when fifth to Bergerac in last week's Ipswich Cup, is also having a break in the north.
"It was a funny race because he was last and then did his best work in the straight," Lees said. "He might not have handled the turning track."
Lees has other stayers to go on with through the winter with his sights on this weekend's Caloundra Cup at the Sunshine Coast and the Stayers Cup at Rosehill.
Lees has entered Big Duke, Saunter Boy and Doukhan for the $175,000 Caloundra Cup (2400m) and also has Doukhan in the $125,000 Stayers Cup over 3200m.
He also has Articus and Mongolian Wolf nominated for the Kensei Handicap (2000m) at Rosehill, a race that gives the winner ballot exemption for the $160,000 Grafton Cup (2350m) on July 11.
Chris Waller has three Kensie Handicap entries including his progressive four-year-old So You Win.
Waller named the Grafton Cup as the winter target for So You Win after his strong last start win over 1800m at Rosehill when having just his second start after a spell.
Waller has Mazaz, Casterton and Exoteric entered for the Caloundra Cup. Mazaz joins High Bridge as his entries for the Stayers Cup at Rosehill.
