Richard Hannon is planning to split his juvenile aces at Glorious Goodwood next week, with Mystery Power  set to run in Tuesday's Qatar Vintage Stakes and stablemate Threat likely to wait for the Richmond Stakes on Thursday.

The Marlborough maestro has saddled four previous winners of the Vintage Stakes in King Torus (2010), Chandlery (2011), Olympic Glory (2012) and Toormore (2013), and possesses a strong hand in this year's renewal following the confirmation stage.

Mystery Power is unbeaten in two starts, landing the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket earlier this month, while stablemate Threat was beaten just half a length by Arizona in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot on his latest outing.

However, with Hannon not too keen on letting the pair lock horns on the Sussex Downs, he is set to rely on Mystery Power on the opening day of the meeting – with Threat likely to stick to six furlongs in the Richmond.

Hannon said: "It is more than likely going to be Mystery Power in the Vintage and Threat, who is in both, I would probably favour the Richmond for.

"It was a great run by Threat in the Coventry and he has the speed for six furlongs – he has proved that and he has won over five at Newmarket.

"Mystery Power has a 3lb penalty, but he has to have the seven furlongs. He is a good horse. He did a bit of work three days ago and worked super and quite often the very best horses do that.

"Threat will get seven and a mile in time. I think he is a Guineas horse for next year, but I'm hoping he can make a stallion over six on the way.

"I'd be happy if they didn't take each other on."
