Mohaather  is due to rejoin trainer Marcus Tregoning later this week, with the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes a possible autumn target.

The Showcasing colt has won three of his four career starts, taking the Greenham at Newbury back in April, before injury scuppered his 2000 Guineas hopes.

Mohaather has had a lengthy break to recover from that bone bruise, and Tregoning could now look towards the QEII over a mile on Champions Day at Ascot on October 19.

Tregoning said: "He is back on Thursday and we will have to see how that goes, but he is in the QEII. Something like that is more realistic than the Foret, where everyone seems to be going, that is if we step him up to that sort of company.

"He has got to be going extremely well to run in Group Ones, as he was before the Guineas.

"I don't think he wants it too firm, I think he wants it good or with a bit more cut in as his good form is on softer ground.

"He would have to go straight to it. I'm not saying it will definitely happen, it is more of a speculative entry. It is a hell of a good race and the ground should suit him at that time of year."

Tregoning also has a high-profile autumn target in mind with Power Of Darkness, who added his second win of this year when lifting the Shergar Cup Mile on Saturday.

The trainer added: "I'm going to send him to the Cambridgeshire, but I don't want him to go up in the weights. I'm hoping to have one run and go to the Cambridgeshire with a good chance.

"He will go to the Cambridgeshire with a good chance if he is at the right end of the weights. Picking up a 4lb penalty is not that serious, but I would rather be cleverer than that and try to get in off a low mark at the bottom."
