Morphettville Races Review - 24th August 2019

3 minute read

Trainer David Jolly looks to have a nice three-year-old on his hands after Roccabascerana was too strong for his rivals in the opening event of 1100 metres at Morpehttville on Saturday.

The Todd Pannell guided Roccabascerana led all the way.

Victorian apprentice Lewis German continued his good Adelaide form going when he guided Bling Dynasty to success in the 2500 metre second race.

Prepared at Horsham by Paul Preusker Bling Dynasty broke a long run of outs when he came from last with a late run to win in the last stride.

Trainer Paul Preusker and apprentice Lewis German completed a running double when Arty Lucas took out the 2041 metre third race.

Bringing up successive wins Arty Lucas came from a midfield position with a strong run late in the event.

Resuming racing after a spell Aiguilette brought up its third win from five starts when he took out the 1200 metre fourth race.

Being under the care of John Macmillan at Strathalbyn and guided to victory by apprentice Kayla Crowther Aiguilette came from fourth on the home turn with a strong run to win.

The David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig training combination kept its Adelaide training record intact when Prairie Fire took out the 1200 metre fifth race.

Having the services of Jason Holder Prairie Fire came from a near last position with a strong run over the concluding 200 metres.

Todd Pannell landed his second winner for the day when Tiara Star took out the 1100 metre sixth race.

Coming out of the Will Clarken stable Tiara Star came from well back with a strong run over the concluding stages.

Todd Pannell brought up a race to race double and his third winner for the day when he rode Tatoosh to a win in the 1600 metre seventh race.

Giving trainer Will Clarken a race to race double Tatoosh had a good rails run and fought back courageously after being headed by the second placegetter Wasabi Bob.

Coming off a last start sixth Bayou gave the training combination of Richard and Chantelle Jolly a win in the 1200 metre final event.

Piloted to victory by Jake Toeroek Bayou was in a good position throughout the event.
