The 2019 Irish Champion Stakes lacks a real standout performer (perhaps harsh on Magical) but it is a competitive betting heat and the Racing and Sports Priceline finds four key winning hopes.

Assessed Prices: Magical $2.70; Headman $4.33; Elarqam $4.50; Deirdre $13.00.

Unfortunately early betting markets seem to fall right in line with our pricing model. Good news for the quality of the model, perhaps, but not such good news for those of us looking to have a bet.

The surprising one here is that Headman has been so well found by the betting. He gets a big mark up for his closing sectionals in France and they are often something the Model finds more than the betting. Not this time it seems...

There is another Group 1 on the Leopardstown card on Saturday and here the Model does find an edge - marking the two key chances, Laurens and Hermosa, level pegging at $2.75.

Early markets have less trouble splitting them, siding with the recent form and the consistency of the admirable Laurens. She's a star, and off a strong figure, but Hermosa's Irish Guineas winning peak stands out as a winning mark for this and she runs for the right connections to think that she produces that peak again, and often enough, to be marked shorter than the $3.25 and better on offer.

Over at Doncaster the favourites are easy to like with Shine So Bright and Logician strongly fancied by the Model in their respective heats with both coming off big York ratings last time - the former when edging out the aforementioned Laurens.
