Unbeaten novice chaser one of seven Ascot entries.

Anthony Honeyball's Sam Brown  is set to put his Cheltenham credentials on the line in the Sodexo Reynoldstown Novices' Chase at Ascot.

The eight-year-old is prominent in the ante-post betting for both the RSA Insurance Novices' Chase and the National Hunt Chase, after winning both his starts over fences in great style at Lingfield and Haydock.

Sam Brown features among seven entries in Saturday's Grade Two – among whom Pym, Two For Gold, Copperhead, Captain Drake and Danny Whizzbang also hold engagements at the Festival next month.

Of the latter his trainer Paul Nicholls said: "He won a Grade Two on his chasing debut at Newbury then he was third at Kempton in the Kauto Star.

"He is very much one for the future. He is one that could end up running in the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury next season. He has done well as he was unbeaten over hurdles."

The only one that does not is the Alan King-trained Alsa Mix.

Captain Drake, trained by Harry Fry, is also one of 19 entries for the Keltbray Swinley Limited Handicap Chase.

Black Corton, winner of the Reynoldstown in 2018, is arguably the star name in the list. Paul Nicholls' Grade One scorer was second in this race last year – while the third that day, Regal Encore, could try again too. The 12-year-old course specialist and Jepeck are from the Honeyball stable.

Others in a strong entry include Ballyoptic, Domaine De L'Isle, Traffic Fluide and Valtor.

Master Debonair, Sporting John and The Big Breakaway are among several Cheltenham Festival possibles in the Thames Materials Novices' Hurdle, for which there are 17 entries.
