Unbeaten Middle Park winner pencilled in for ParisLongchamp.
Andre Fabre has outlined immediate running plans for star three-year-old colts Earthlight and Victor Ludorum with the resumption of French racing less than a fortnight away.
The master trainer told me after supervising work in Chantilly that Middle Park winner Earthlight will go for the Prix de Fontainebleau at ParisLongchamp on Monday week.
He could be joined in the Group Three mile contest by Victor Ludorum, though the latter has the option of waiting a further three days for the nine-furlong Prix La Force at the same venue.
"They have wintered well and are in good shape for their first runs of the season," said Fabre of the Godolphin-owned duo, both unbeaten and by Shamardal, who sadly passed away recently.
"Earthlight appears more of a Guineas horse but whether that will be in France or England we will have to see, depending on how the coronavirus situation develops and what Sheikh Mohammed wants to do.
"Victor Ludorum (winner of the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere on Arc day) could also run in a Guineas, though his main target will be the Prix du Jockey Club. I would expect a mile and quarter to suit him very well."
Fabre also had news of recent intake Alson, runner-up in the Lagardere and winner of the Criterium International when trained by Jean-Pierre Carvalho.
"He's another Guineas possible but won't be having a prep run as I'm giving him more time to adapt to his new surroundings. He looks very promising, a keen-going colt for whom a mile is far enough at this stage."
