Selections from the Racing and Sports Pricing Model for the 2020 Dante Stakes at York.

The Dante finds itself in a different timeslot, and with a different role, in 2020 but it still put together a field of promising three-year-olds headed up by odds-on favourite Highest Ground. 

Highest Ground has about as sweet a profile as you will ever see and represents the best winning chance in the race but the Racing and Sports Pricing Model can't find him as short as the early markets which have him a shade of odds on. 

The first point of call for the Model is established form and it's Juan Elcano  who has the pick of that. That comes courtesy of the best opportunities, his Guineas fifth is the pick of the ratings on offer here but he seemingly had every chance there, and he had another chance in a high-rating race last time when he just peaked on his run late at Ascot. 

The run at the trip could toughen him up for this and he is a big enough price for the Model to fancy him as a bet against horses with more upside, but fewer runs on the board, at York tonight. 

The other feature on the card is the Musidora for the fillies and again the Model sees the edges with established form over hot profiles that head the betting. 

Ricetta , like Highest Ground, has every chance of being smart given her profile, and she has shown talent in winning twice from as many starts, but it's still a leap that she has to take to match the ratings of Pocket Square, Rose Of Kildare and Dubai Love who is the one to back in the eyes of the Model. 

Oisin Murphy rides at 26% for Saeed Bin Suroor which The Model likes, particularly when they combine with a horse with the best established ratings. Dubai Love was the best horse in the Sandringham based on ratings and will see out the longer trip no problems so it's easy to see what The Model likes and why.
