The Racing and Sports Priceline picks for the 2020 Hungerford Stakes from Newbury.

The Group 2 Hungerford Stakes is the highlight at Newbury this Saturday with the meeting the pick of the action between festivals - York being on the horizon next week. 

The Racing and Sports Priceline finds plenty to like about 2018 runner Dream Of Dreams who heads the early markets but could be a bit shorter still in the Model's view. 

Dream Of Dreams hasn't seen seven furlongs since back in 2018 when he followed that Hungerford placing with another in the Supreme at Goodwood, and that's perhaps a bit of a surprise give his record at the trip is more than solid. 

He arrives at Newbury having run a career best in the Diamond Jubilee at Ascot, a race where he has peaked in the last two years, and a repeat of that form here would go a long way towards winning a race where the horses most likely to match his level are less likely to fire given recent efforts. 

The trendy profiles of Threat and Pierre Lapin have taken big hits and last year's winner Glorious Journey was alongside Pierre Lapin at 25-1 in the Lennox last time making it less likely than it might have been that he finds a winning peak for this. 

Thinking of this in Monte Carlo terms, as the Model does, Dream Of Dreams win this a lot of times against key rivals less likely to run to their best and prices around 5/2 can be seen as a worthwhile gamble.
