Richard Hughes reports ante-post favourite Brentford Hope  on course for this month's Unibet Lincoln.

The former champion jockey turned trainer has always held the son of Camelot in high regard, and is looking forward to the first big race of the turf season at Doncaster on March 27.

"He's fine. He's on track for the Lincoln," he said.

"He's not done a flat-out gallop yet, but he's getting there. He's a month away from being ready!"

Brentford Hope looked a potential Classic hope when making an impressive winning debut as a juvenile in October 2019, but that did not materialise.

He was gelded after being beaten in his first two races last summer, and then managed to return to winning ways in some style at Haydock in October.

Jamie Spencer has ridden Brentford Hope in all his five starts to date, and is likely to be continue the association if he is available.

"If Jamie is not in Dubai I suppose he will ride him," Hughes added.

The four-year-old heads the market for the prestigious handicap over the straight mile at a general 8-1.

Danyah is prominent in the betting at 12-1, and his trainer Owen Burrows is happy with the Invincible Spirit gelding's preparation for the Lincoln.

"He's on course at the moment," said the Lambourn trainer.

"Fingers crossed, if that can continue without any hiccups and we're happy, I'll look forward to running him in it.

"He handles a bit of juice in the ground and he won well at Haydock on his last start. Touch wood, I think he's an improving horse."
