Ian Williams is considering a trip to the Punchestown Festival with his Doncaster winner Dragon Bones .

The six-year-old had shown plenty of promise in two bumper runs, beating Lord Baddesley on her initial run in October 2019, before returning from a 451-day absence to finish fourth behind Eileendover in a Listed mares' event at Market Rasen.

Switched to hurdles on Town Moor for the first time on Saturday, Dragon Bones defied her starting price of 40-1 to win a Listed event in fine style by two and a half lengths.

Williams may look to Ireland in April next for his charge.

He said: "She's got lots of ability – and to win a race like that first time over hurdles, with the other horses having more experience, was great. Robbie (Dunne, jockey) smuggled her into the race really well – and she did the job nicely.

"It wasn't a big surprise. You couldn't expect it, but we knew she had the ability to be there or thereabouts if things fell right.

"We were trying to get her Listed-placed, and the fact she's won means she loses her novice tag in October, so we might head to Punchestown with her for a mares' novice there."
