Raabihah  ended a string of near-misses with a clear-cut success in the Darley Prix de Pomone at Deauville.

Jean-Claude Rouget's filly has kept some top-class company in her career to date, finishing second to Tarnawa in the Prix Vermeille and fifth in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

This season, though, she had been second in all three of her races and was stepping back up to a mile and a half for the first time since the Arc with something to prove.

George Boughey's Cazoo Oaks runner-up Mystery Angel  tried to make all but wandered under pressure, doing no favours to Jessica Harrington's Silence Please in the process.

Cristian Demuro managed to avoid any trouble on Raabihah and she displayed a taking turn of foot, streaking clear to take Group Two honours with ease.

Andre Fabre's Joie De Soir and Alain de Royer-Dupre's Valia gave vain chase but were no match for the impressive winner.

Hot favourite Skazino needed every yard of the one-mile-seven-furlong trip to get his head in front in the Group Two Darley Prix Kergorlay.

Alkuin went off clear, as he had done in last year's Prix du Cadran, and only Gerald Mosse on Rip Van Lips paid him any attention.

While Alkuin weakened, Rip Van Lips kept up the gallop and for almost all of the straight he looked like holding on only for Mickael Barzalona to get Skazino into top gear just in time.

Ed Dunlop's Red Verdon, settled at the rear alongside Skazino by Ryan Moore, finished strongly for third.
