Cornwallis Stakes winner Inquisitively has finished for the season and will be brought back in the spring for a sprint campaign.

The Kevin Philippart De Foy-trained colt attracted prices for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint following his victory in the Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes at Newmarket, where he demonstrated a speedy start from the stalls before making all.

Originally trained by Ollie Sangster, the son of Ten Sovereigns finished third in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes behind Big Evs and has remained unbeaten in two starts since joining the De Foy yard.

With limited options over five furlongs for a three-year-old sprinter, De Foy may have to step the colt up to six furlongs for the first time on his return after the winter break.

"He's not going to go [to America], he has gone for a winter break and we will bring him back next year," said Philippart De Foy.

"The programme is difficult for a three-year-old over five furlongs early in the season but I suppose we will have to try him over six at some point and see how he gets on. He's obviously a very exciting horse to have.

"We will see how he does over the winter but I have my reservations over the six-furlong trip.

"In both of our races for us he has looked very sharp out of the gates and is a strong traveller who quickens well over five furlongs."
