We weren't all that surprised that there were surprises here in the two G3s run on Sunday.

Firstly the Unicorn Stakes was on the dirt and this is always tricky as there are not that many dirt races at the top level.  The victory went to Smasher on 13.4 from Ca Va 79.0 and Keiai Lovage the only one in the top seven to place.

At Hanshin the Mermaid Stakes saw Shamrock Hill win on 20.5 with Clavel second on 9.7 and Shadow Diva third on 10.1.
