Above the Curve a cut above

With Maxim Guyon in the irons and 5/1 the quote they got to the front of the 6-runner field in the Prix Corrida and continued on to defeat the fast-finishing (and our tip) Marquise de Sevigny with favourite Nashwa looking as if she needed the run.

On Monday racing will move to Longchamp for the G1 Prix d'Ispahan and two other group races.

The first of these is the Prix Palais Royal G3 over 1400m with 9 runners.  Amilcar trained by two of the Bottis is on 2/1 but we prefer the Fabre-Barzalona Egot on 5/2 and King Gold could run a place on 9/2.

The Ispahan is G1 over 1900m and has 7 runners, with English raider and Prix Dollar winner Anmaat on 3/1 (Burrows-Crowley).  There are two on 4/1 – Erevan with C Demuro riding for Rouget and Onesto whom we like a lot and Chappet is putting Dettori on him.

Then there is the Australian runner Light Infantry, currently under the care of David Simcock for his European campaign and he's on 5/1 with Jamie Spencer riding.

And we have a rough roughie here – Facteur Cheval on 12/1 – he's been running well over shorter trips but it is a step up for most of these to do this trip.

The Vicomtesse Vigier is G2 over 3100m and has 5 runers with Big Call on top on 7/4 and we rather fancy Sober on 3/1.
